Of all the mob related content on the internet I find that Mr Franzese is by far the most interesting. No ego, no attempt to sensationalise his conduct. An immediate denial, or he informs the interviewer that he is not aware of the incident and that he had no involvement. I am not overly interested in the violent crime stories, but I find his explanation of the sit downs and the negotiations with the information on the inner workings of the organisation and money distribution. I believe that he would have been as successful in legitimate business, as he has proven in his business dealings and enterprise since his change of direction. I respect the fact that he has acknowledged his error of judgment and the mistakes made in the past. His desire to get a message to the young people who are on the cusp of entering that life, or those who still have a chance to turn away from it. Those who are in prison and want to alter their lives for the best. I have the utmost respect for his acceptance of law enforcement and the understanding that they have a job to do, and that they know the potential consequences for their own life choices, but his rightful contempt of the corruption and unlawful techniques deployed by some in authority that equate to criminal behaviour. “Honour amongst thieves” has some meaningful resonance in this instance.
