--------
In this clip, Michael Franzese opened up about former Colombo boss Carmine Persico passing away in 2019. While Persico put a hit out on Michael when he walked away from the family, Michael explained that he was still sad to hear of Persico's passing. Michael stated that he wasn't surpirsed when a hit was placed on him, but he added that he was surprised that his father went along with the order. After stating that he forgave his father before his death, Michael explained why he thinks the mob's golden era stopped in the mid-80's and he doesn't think it'll ever come back.

@@whointense527 Questions about things we don't already know. Everyone knows about what Vlad asks. Ask Michael how he felt about certain guys in the life. How was Fat Tony Salerno? Neil Dellacroce? What Boss did you think was the smartest? The most ruthless? Michael who were your Dad's favorite guys? How was dealing with Anthony Casso in the Gas business? Was he as ruthless in Business as he was known for being as a person? Who were lesser known guys that were actually a lot bigger than we knew about? If Gotti had went to war with the Chin who do you think would've sided with who? There's a million top notch questions you can ask Michael but Vlad asks the same bullshit we all already know that we can all easily search up on Wikipedia. We all know Tommy Gieoli and them killed Wild Bill, we know Carmine died and Michael understood why there was a contract, we know the answer to literally everything he asks.

Mr. Franzese is quite guarded about what he says and who he says it about. Its commendable that he makes his stories interesting, without really revealing too much. It must take much skill and effort, not to mention maintaining his guard always, because it would be easy for things he may not want to divulge, to slip. Its refreshing to see that he doesn't "compete" with other ex-mafia members for the most outrageous stories, and he keeps the viewer interested by his articulate and calm manner. All of these guys are interesting on some level.

People who don’t have culture or traditions can’t understand what that is. In Michael’s life, if someone walks away a hit is put out on them by default almost. Lots of secret society’s and mafia organisations also operate the same way. If Michael was the boss and Persico walked away he would be obligated to put a hit out on him, because THAT Is the way of that life. So NO Michael is not crazy for understanding or forgiving jr and his dad.

Most of Vlad's questions make no sense, if you're familiar with this subject. "Wild Bill, was he a crazy guy?" Michael has a straight face to be polite, but is probably thinking "WTF".The problem is Vlad is lazy and just skims through Wikipedia, which is full of misinfo, during the interview to find questions to ask him. As opposed to doing actual research and coming up with decent questions.

He's right. Gotti would've kept the rules of Cosa Nostra and kept his mouth shut, then it woulda been him & the Chin left to battle it out for boss of bosses. I think Chin sent a message that'd win that war. When another family blows up a respected underboss like Frank DiCicco, who was effectively the new Neil Dellacroce, and no vengeance for him?!! The Chin had his bluff in on Gotti.

wild bill's reputation in the mob was making money. he wasnt a nut. he was the richest out the colombos. he killed but he was mostly known as the richest guy in the colombos pretty much. he was one of the last mafia guys who actually was doing traditional mob racket. he was the underboss of the family at one point too. Dude was against Persicos clique. Do ya research vlad, And michael is right, the mob pretty much had to face the reality that informants were gonna always be around, so they tried their best to be secretive, but the informants were literally payed by the FBI good money to infiltrate for years and years without even trying to get convictions, just information. The mob was screwed after the 60s

I find it interesting that oaths taken for loyalty have never applied to within...just external authority...with the understanding that it seems the inducted know what they are getting into...Persico for all I know is called "The Snake" because he betrayed the Gallos. Seemingly endless accounts of internal backstabbing....literal and figurative...that's not loyalty. You aren't a rat for selling out your "friends" to another boss, made guy, etc.,.but that makes you a snake....what's the difference? It's all just opera.
