What separates someone like Tij Iginla from Hage in your opinion? Hockey smarts? Hage seems to have speed, hands, shooting and high end passing instincts. Seems like a player that would thrive with better players around him.

-Way smarter overall in how he process the game as a whole, playing collectively, winning the small battles that makes a difference. -Is stronger on puck by a big margin -Better a finidng the soft spot on the ice. -Way more effective passing. - Better finnisher. I agree that Hage didn't had the best support this year in Chicago. Would have love to see him at the U-18 with Canada, Heck, I think he and Iginla could have complemented each other well. I disagree with the High-End Passing Instinct however. The flashes gave me hope in the first half of the season that his playmaking has a ton of room for growth, but after 21 games, I'm more skeptical. Not enough plays benefits his linemates. (To be fair, when I was optimistic about that, I was thinking it would be a project of a few season at Michigan so he can still turn things around and improve dramatically this aspect)

@@SimonSt-L-Scouting when a guy is described as tij i hear it as he needs others around him to make him effective (need teammates looking for him in the soft spots and have the ability to draw extra attention towards themselves). which isn't bad either. a lot of times those guys are irreplaceable on contending team's top sixes. some of the other things also don't mean hage is bad. hage can separate from defenders in open ice or tight spaces so he doesn't have to protect as much as tij who lacks the same separation ability. i agree winning small battles is important but it can also come with age. i also don't think that alone can separate a player who is decently behind another in skating and skill. i mean tyler bertuzzi wins more battles than a lot of skill, high point guys. you still need both on your team to win. i didnt notice your points on not making his linemates better that you mentioned in the video either. he seems to draw attention and have good vision for the open guy. is he taking bad shots? is he leaving his linemates out to dry on defense? is he taking bad penalties? is he not catching passes? is he a problem with the coaches? is he lazy? if there was something or multiple things specific you noticed it would help me look for it. i think they're both great but they're different

@@user-lf1wb4mt4o In a video like this, of course Hage's passing ability are going to look really good. And like I said, first half of the season my point of view was that it is something that could grow exponentially in the next couple of years with the University of Michigan. But while watchings multiple games (21 to be exact), those highlights doesn't paint a proper representation of a typical game of him. There isn't a lot of plays that are not solely based on ndividual skills. I'll remain very intrigued by his developpment in the next few years but I can't rank him as high as I had him in the first half of the season. His shot-selection isn't an issue for me, and unlike a guy like Connelly, he is not making countless turnovers on the basis of individual plays and keeping the puck for too long. I don't think there's a specific underlying issue other than his overall sense for the game may fall more on the average side on the spectrum.

The Mississauga Snake!! Where do you rank him and where do you expect him to get drafted? I am pretty high on him, I should have him around 9 or 10 in my next ranking, and I projected him to go 12th OA in my most recent mock draft simply because he is a 6'1 center.

I was really high on him in the first half of the season (12-15_ but I've cooled off quite a bit in my last viewings. Doesn't benefits his linemates enough at my liking. I need to watch his playoffs tho, but I would be a bit surprised if he's pick in the first half of the first round.

@@SimonSt-L-Scoutingdon’t you think that he doesn’t benefit his teammates enough because he isn’t really playing with high quality linemates? Seems like he’s trying to do everything himself because of it.

@@italian1ist I'm not sure he's trying to fo too much. I just think his overall feel for the game may be average.
