Part 1: • Michael Jai White Isn'...
--------
Michael Jai White held a frank discussion about the culture prevalent among the Black community, surmising that purification through struggle and suffering is sometimes promoted for survival, dating back to times of slavery. Drawing from personal experiences, he expounds on the troubling notion of "crabs in a bucket," where those who rise above their circumstances are often targeted and pulled back down by their peers. This is compared to how the older generation sought to protect their loved ones by discouraging them from aspiration and ambition to avoid racial punishment. While fighting against generational trauma and self-hate within his community, White rejects the culture of celebrating someone's downfall, equating it to internalized racism. His revelation-based self-awareness has led him to feel an empathetic connection to others' struggles, emphasizing the need for this cultural shift.

Everything he is saying is so true. Black people pull each other down instead of working together. It’s a mindset. It’s not all black people because some do work together. He’s talking about a generational curse being passed down based on an old mindset. I don’t want you to succeed or have more than me. So true brother.

Yeah but when we do come together other people make ways to tear us down. I was in LA in the late 80s and 90s alot of blackw owned homes and businesses but the LAPD started locking up every young black male claiming there cracking down on gangs. It was all BS they devalue are communities too. So if today we all came together to make a difference other people will try and tear us down. We gotta fight back and keep everything black owned like the Jews Asians etc. there's a china town in every big city we need to do the same . Close ranks and keep it black . Nothing against other races but we gotta look out for us first like they do

In my family, if you wasn't doing what they was doing, then you was the biggest joke in the house hold. What's ironic is that now that we grown, they don't even come together for each other, because they all so disrespectful to each other especially after a few drinks that they begin to clown each other and it all escalates to fighting, stabbings and shootings💯

@TravelHall74 I'm not sneaking as much for me as I'm speaking for some of t g e single mothers I've dated. I dated one that who got mad at me for reprimanding her 11 year out son, whomever she knew was stealing cars and selling drugs. When I started teaching him about repairing this around his house and taking him on jobs with me. She said he doesn't care about none of that because the money I'm giving him is nothing. That's found out everything. I told her he has a gift for fixing things. She got mad at me because i said he wasn't built for the streets. Because even though hes 11, he actually looks 6. What's really sad is that when I left, he cried, that's what really hurt me. Seeing what's awaiting him under his mom's care💯

Black culture is hellbent on diminishing those who are great. We love you on the way up, but if you get too big now we have to tear you down.. Its a reason why Entertainers of other races are flourishing playing Arenas and Theaters and revered by their fans and our Legendary entertainers are performing outside of Swap Meets. We compare and contrast our greats to bring them down and it’s taken literal. Black culture means, “There can only be one” when other races have multiple legends all winning. We kill ours off.

I definitely have to agree with his take on Generational Trauma. I believe every individual is responsible for his or her own actions. But at the same time, if PTSD is really a real thing, I think it's unreasonable to think 400 years of slavery hasn't had lasting effects on black folks. If severe trauma suffered by a human being earlier in their life can have lasting effects on them later in life, how can 400 years of severe trauma suffered by an ENTIRE RACE of people not have lasting effects on them for generations to come???? I definitely believe Alot of what we as a race of people do to eachother are holdovers from slavery.

Cold facts people grow to each other in our community based on your situation. If they know you are going through hard times they relate to you more. But when you start growing and doing better your friends begin to fall off. All it is relationships are based on really how people relate if they can’t relate to your lifestyle then the friendships phase out.

This is powerful. We are all thinking it,but people are afraid to talk about it. We need to explore the root causes of our behavior in order to heal, unite, and move forward as a people.

To date, this is my FAVORITE Micheal Jai White interview segment: "They pulled you down...because they loved you. Nowadays...there's no threat of you being killed as a result of your success; but we STILL do to each other. Because, it's a learned behavior that we haven't shed." Powerful...and factual.

🎯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯This is just another reason why I respect and have love for this brother Michael Jai White. When you can recognize the wrong programming (indoctrination) within yourself, and change it for the better or the opposite that’s real self empowerment!💯💪🏾✊🏾

Mike is explaining something to Vlad that he already knows. The problem is that Mike doesn't realize that Vlad not only knows this info already but he's using it to continue to divide Black people while monetizing and building a name for himself. Keep the enemy out of our business. That's the name of the game.
