Judge is the best hitter in baseball. He strikes out because he has a huge strike zone. Judge's career numbers are either better than Soto's or on par (average). Soto is a career .287 hitter. Judge hits .282. Not much of a difference. Judge's OPS is significantly higher. He also has a higher OPS+. Judge is the better hitter and overall player. When Judge is at his best, he's better than Soto at his best. Look at this season. As great as Soto has been, his numbers are not better than Judge's and this is even with Judge not hitting for the first month. Judge's OPS, WAR, OBP, slugging, WRC, OPS+, etc are all better than Soto's. In regards to the playoffs, Soto is a .261 hitter. In the playoffs in 2022, he didn't hit. I don't know why you are using one playoffs (2019) to try and argue Soto is a better hitter. Soto has struck out 24.4% of the time in the playoffs in comparison to 17% in the regular season. Judge is stronger, hits more HRs, runs faster, and is a better outfielder than Soto. Soto drives in more runs (i.e. he’s more clutch during the season and in the playoffs). Judge makes $40 M AAV for 7 more seasons. On any other team, Soto’s new $50 M to $60 M AAV salary wouldn’t be discussed that much, but on the Yankees, Soto making $10 M to $20 M more per season than Judge will be problematic for a proud Aaron Judge. Look at Bryce Harper how bitter he is that the Phillies won’t rip up his $25.2 M AAV contract and pay him market value.

Lol what a great problem to have...deciding which of the 2 best hitters in all of baseball is better than the other. They're the only 2 players in all MLB with a >1.000 OPS and they bat one after the other in the SAME lineup 😂. My 2 cents is Soto is only 25--the same age Judge was as a rookie. He's had a top 15 all time start to his career and will pass 200 home runs before his 26th birthday (Ken Griffey Jr pace). Prime Soto very well could match prime Judge, and he'll likely have the better overall career. Lastly, Soto has been incredibly durable, playing practically every game in his career (knock on wood this continues). Regardless, it's flat out unfair having these 2 together.

Even now, Judge's numbers are better than Soto's and Judge didn't even hit the first month. That shows you he's the best player in the game. Soto could surpass him one day but it isn't today.

To your point of judge having a better on base percentage, he has Soto batting in front of him. Until judge proves that he can be clutch in the post season (which he hasn't) & win a chip he'll never be better than Soto.
