Why would you want a big name right now? They never play and they always complain. Build through the draft and do it the right way.
@Matt-cr4vv
@Matt-cr4vv 9 ай бұрын
But those players wanting out aren’t really reflective on the Nets being a bad place to play but mostly because of those specific guys. Harden wanted out because of Kyrie. Kyrie wanted out because the team wouldn’t appease his contract demands after all the shit he pulled. And Durant wanted out because he always does that. If I was a free agent their demands wouldn’t mean much to me because it was the specific players not a bad franchise culture.

Personally, I'm glad, and I don't blame Sean Marks. Sean was building a Spurs East franchise, with great draft picks of character guys like Levert and Jarrett Allen, and finding hidden gems like Joe Harris and Spencer Dinwiddie. I was opposed to going the superstar route. I wanted to sign guys like Tobias Harris and Thomas Bryant. We're actually in much better shape now than we were in 2018. A starting lineup of Dinwiddie/Thomas/Bridges/O'Neal/Claxton with Cam Johnson, Harris, Curry, Simmons, Sharpe, Sumner, Watanabe all on the bench. I think Jacques Vaughn can do something with this squad. We've got a lot of great defenders and plenty of shooters.

@@philbosh03 Please. Every TV/Internet pundit says Harden's problem was Kyrie. What the hell does "no structure to the organization" even mean? As for Covid, fines were never an issue. NYC would not allow unvaxxed players to play. You couldn't just ignore the rule and pay a fine instead. If you are going to make claims about Clax and Thomas not liking the team you'd best have some proof of it. I follow the team very closely and have never heard that. Do you live in NYC or California? There was a big deal made about Andrew Wiggins taking the vaccine as well. And he took it. Not saying it was right, but he took it. In NYC, it was mandated, that all those that worked in that city HAD TO TAKE THE VACCINE. Athletes included. The other players in the NBA that didn't take the vaccine, don't matter because those states didn't mandate their players to take it. Do you understand?

Look at 2004 with the Lakers signing Karl Malone and Gary Payton to play with Shaq and Kobe .. 4 of the best players in the league on the Lakers and it didn't work out Detroit Pistons rolled over them 4-1 in the NBA Finals... @@thebrogressiveagenda9936 those things u listed would be "perceived drama". the nets were still better than they've ever been throughout all this. if u dont see how the nets bottom line immediately plummets after trading the 1st and second leading asg vote getters at their positions for picks and role players then idk what to tell u. but they fumbled sold out seats, they fumbled sold out jerseys, they fumbled all star weekend promo, they fumbled 3 ALL TIME GREATS, they fumbled any realistic chance at a chip, they fumbled their stock prices, they fumbled their national air time... i can keep going

@@Not_Sal because players have no obligation to any particular team or vice versa. they have no reason to stay in a situation that doesnt benefit them. no matter the profession, if u r top 10 n arguably the best itw at what u do, u get to choose where u work simply because u will be hired virtually anywhere over anyone else. nets fo is obligated to produce a championship team so it was on them to make whichever decisions (let kyrie play away games last year, fire nash n marks, not tryna buck break kyrie, paying him), that would have kept those 3 stars together cause rn they not even a playoff team n those same 3 stars were immediately picked up by contenders.

I am happy KD got away from the Nets. Ya’ll wanted him to stick around for what? To play with 7ppg Ben Simmons? Who is getting paid 35mil? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Joel Embiid didnt want to play with him whilst he averaged 16ppg .KD’s gave the nets his all , played his heart out for 3 years and the FO failed to manage Kai, Ben, and James. Thats on them not on KD

These guys very good players but all individual players. This is the state of the NBA today. The days of loyalty and and developing players and systems are over. This is why I stopped watching the clowns in the NBA 5 years ago. Owners and players are out of touch. They want instant Championships like Instant coffee. This is what Lebron James started this shit.
