I kinda agree with you. I have always liked him, though, and thought he was amazing on Mad TV. But a few skits had me stop and think, "Holy crap that's dark, and he delivered it with ease. I wonder what his childhood was like." This story definitely reflects on what parenting should not look like! Now, that doesn't mean anyone is a bad person here. What I think it means is when you grow up with it, it's just normal to you and everyone *else* is off... I'm 37 and have just realized I have childhood PTSD. I just thought everyone had a "hard" life, so who am I to complain? But as the stories flood back to me, I realize, "Holy sh*t, that wasn't actually OKAY for my parents to act like that!" Which then has me wonder what generational trauma was passed down from my grandparents. What kind of traumatic things did they experience as children that they will take to their grave?
