Michael Tubbs, an extraordinary young leader who at age 22 became the youngest city council member in Stockton, California after winning 60 percent of the vote, shares his story growing up poor and Black and male. Now after excelling academically in one of the country's top universities, he has returned to his hometown to change the odds for others so they can succeed. Tubbs is also an adjunct professor at the Langston Hughes Academy and a mentor to Black male high school students.
