My observation of MWS journey with God through the years is this, there is a change in his music style. He is writing/playing more Praise and Worship songs than pop. This message is great however, his current music is richer of meaning, more edifing to Jesus. Richer. MWS is blessed. jmo Peace and Love in Jesus \o/

i agree, the labels need to rerelease the old videos in compilations. all the way back to the eighties(best decade for music in general). that was when the best stuff was made. dvd and as downloads. i saw him may 1, 1993 in chapel hill, nc. best birthday present ever!!!

cywl was never on cd, just video. this needs to be rereleased on dvd. the old concert videoes need to be on dvd. i saw michael in chapell hill the night before this was taped at the dean smith center. that couldn't have been coincidence. my 17th birthday was just a few days earlier. best birthday present ever!!!

I recommitted my life to Christ yesterday, and I've been so full of joy ever since. My life isn't in the best shape lately(academically, financially), but by starting over on a renewed faith, I have no doubt that whatever happens, and has happened, will be to benefit and glorify God.

"Friends" is my all-time favorite Christian song! The original from 1983 of course. There is no song called "somewhere in the night" that's a line from "I Will Be Here For You" (1992) Change Your World. And it's "Place in This World". I2EYE is my favorite mws album. I saw Michael in 1993 the night before he taped CYW live and again last october at the NC state fair. This time with my best friend. Hearing "Friends" with her made the worship even better! Makes me tear up thinking about it!

this kind of music gives me a greater high than anything i could get from a doctor or off the street. and i don't mess with that. there's no high like the Most High i say! and another thing; i don't need to hide it from anyone!

I agree,as well Jennifer. There was a time in my life where I viewed the Cross as a fashion statement,but that was 29 years ago! I've now been a Christian for 26 years. Michael's song "Friends" brings me to tears everytime I listen to it as well as "Above All (Crucified)" "Be lifted High" "Breathe" "Somewhere in the Night" and "My place in this World" really Minister to me.

I didn't know that Michael was born in West Virginia! That's where (and I still live) in. I just love Michael. His songs take me back to a point where I was just beginning to enter the realm of the supernatural as a Christian. The songs "Above All" (Crucified) Be lifted high" "Somewhere in the night" "My place in this world" "Friends" "Love of my life" and "Breathe" hold particlar significance to me.

This set of questions is among the most hitting I've ever encountered. It made me stop and think - man, are you really doing it like God expects you to? And there's that absolutely ingenious wordplay: "are you holding the key or are you intending to pick the lock of heaven's gate"

I have Michael Whittaker Smith his Change Your World album on tape and on my computer, but his song Voice from his album The Big Picture have never been played and sung from his VHS tape The Big Picture because I have that consert on VHS here at home and I have also this album on VHS, there is the song :)

amen to that! i could hear the opening notes of any mws song and tell you what song and where it can be found (up to 1999). but i love good music that gets you moving. even if it's just tapping your feet because this comes from the spirit and the body soon follows.

That's Tony Palacios of Guardian on guitar. Definitely a monster guitar player although this song doesn't really show what he's all about. He toured with Smitty back in 91 or whenever this was.

I don't think that I'm as Big a fan of MWS as you are,you know almost everything about him! That's Amazing and what a True fan should be. You are So lucky to have seen him in concert not only once,but Twice! The only true Christian artist I've seen is Todd Agnew at the Jesusfest in 2011 in Clarksburg,West Virginia,ever heard of him? He does this really awesome song "My Jesus" I forgot to mention that I lived in Jacksonville,NC in 1992. But,I was unequally yoked to a non-believer then.

It looks like the early parts of the this video clip were in the Dean Smith Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina. Awesome song, nonetheless. It really makes a pertinent point. People who wear "crosses" or religious symbols for fashion aren't getting the real meaning of what the cross means. We Christians acknowledge the cross as the pinnacle point of our salvation...the fact that a sinless Savior gave His life on that cross for our salvation.

I don't see anything wrong with wearing a cross regardless of the color as long as you actually have a real relation ship with God/Jesus.
