The team that made me a baseball fan. That defined & reflected Milwaukee. That broke my heart in Game 7. But made us proud anyway. 💙💛💙

I came to WI as an exchange student from Sweden in August 1982. I got a crash course in the rules and I was lost, loved the game and been a brewers fan ever since

Moved back from California to take a job in Milwaukee in October.82 .... always a Brewers fan....and this state was on fire ...bars were full in the middle of the day during the playoffs...many didn't go to work on game day... backyard parties...block parties.....it was the most incredible feeling and time.....my most cherished Brewers memories.... what a great experience... 🍺

I play baseball strat-o-matic and have the 1982 Cardinals and 1982 Brewers teams offered by the game. What a contrast. The Cardinals play small ball with team speed and run wild on the bases while the Brewers have the big hitting.. Startter Joaquin Andujar comes up big for St. Louis and Rollie Fingers could have made a difference in the Brewers bullpen if not hurt. It's a close 7 game series like actually happened in 1982. Cards fan

I'm a Strat player as well, but I do not have this season. I'm giving good consideration to getting this one, because though I'm a White Sox fan, the 1982 Brewers hold a spot in my baseball heart. They were absolute bruisers, weren't they? One of the best single season offenses ever, and the pitching was just good enough. I do wonder how the World Series would have turned out if Fingers had been healthy. If/when I get this season, I will likely set it up so that Fingers will be there the whole year so I can see how it would turn out.

@@DaDitka Sounds good to me. The game is so incredibly realistic. I am a Cards fan with baseball memories that begin in 1960. I have all of the contender teams of the 1960s offered by the game and replay all the teams I remember so well growing up. I saw a college buddy playing the game my first year in 1971 and bought the game. I also bought some of their offered oldtimer teams at that time like the 1927 and 1950 Yankees, 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers, 1954 New York Giants, 1957 Milwaukee Braves, 1954 Indians, and the 1934 and 1946 Cardinals. I have gotten to know these teams before my time well playing the game. The last year I bought teams was for the 1982 season and held on to the game all these years and started playing it again dusting it off several years ago. I like playing teams from different years. Have fun with that Brewers team. The Brewers had to have been better with Fingers.

This is the first team I can remember that had no players in the lineup for defense only. Almost every team used to have a shortstop, second baseman, catcher, or center fielder who couldn't hit a lick. Times have changed. This team was ahead of its time.

Good shout. Kind of the original Moneyball team philosophy regarding defense.

@James-re1yf Weaver had Belanger at short and never had a good hitting catcher. How is that the same?

All that talk about Pete Vukovitch, and NO mention of him playing Clu Haywood in "Major League"?! C'mon now! 😂

If Rollie Finger wasn't injured, I think they could have won that series

Hate the Crew. Love the documentary. Saw it in Milwaukee when it came out. Bought the DVD of it. A great capsule from 1982. The one and only year the Brew Crew did anything. Good on them. Hopefully, they win the AL Pennant again in 2082, one hundred years after their first pennant.
