Unfortunately it probably IS an April Fools post, as the reason Pluto was declared a Dwarf Planet instead of a Normal Planet is because Pluto isn't big enough to push other objects that similarly Pluto-sized out of its' orbit. It's round, it orbits the Sun, but it can't clear its' orbit on its' own. Having moons is not enough to make you a planet, unfortunately. However, it should please you to know that 4 more moons were discovered orbiting Pluto! Their names are (in order of distance from Pluto and Charon): Styx, Nix, Kerberos, and Hydra, and are WAY more asteroid-shaped than spherical Charon. It's believed they were formed after another Kuiper Belt object collided with Pluto during the early history of the Solar System.

I looked it up.. Pluto is in a limbo state right now. It's small enough to be s dwarf planet.. but has genuine tectonic and volcanic activity like other full sized planets.. so.. yeah

@@Envie1590 Fair enough lol It was the first I'd heard of it, last I knew of Pluto's moons, Charon existed and a 2nd one was a possibility and not a certainty, so when I found out we've got 5 confirmed Pluto moons, I figured I'd share it XD

They've know pluto had at least one moon since 1978, they found two more in 2005, another in 2011, and a fifth in 2012, so we've known for quite a while now, actually

ok, according to the NASA website, they have known Pluto has 5 moons. The first was found in 1978, two more were found in 2005, one was found in 2011, and the most recent was 2012. NASA has not declared it a planet still, but the state of Arizona has, as it's the only planet the the USA has found, and Arizona played a big role in that expedition.

2:23: we've known pluto has moons for a while now. The first, Charon, was discovered in 1978. The rest, Hydra, Nix, Kerberos, and Styx, were discovered in 2005 (for the first two) and 2011. (For the other two) (Yes, the moon of pluto that Shiro and Pidge's dad and brother were captured on is real.)

The US state of Arizona is declaring it a planet again for the reason of Pluto being the only planet found by the us and Arizona playing a large roll, but scientifically no, it's still a dwarf planet.

It's still only a dwarf planet, but it is a very interesting dwarf planet, that may have an underground ocean in it, which is awesome.

On Pluto, having moons is not the same as successfully clearing it’s orbital path of large debris such as asteroids. It is still a dwarf planet, that is why people haven’t made noise over the discovery of moons

Viva la Pluto etc BUT I feel that arguing over the planet-ness of Pluto is like arguing over whether a tomato is a fruit or a vegetable. By the scientific definition it may be a fruit, but in the common language and as far as any normal person is concerned, it's a vegetable. Likewise, NASA can classify Pluto as whatever they want, it's still a planet as far as I'm concerned.
