There is something special about dipping into or trying a new fragrance. However, sometimes the new fragrance is not as good as one of the fragrances we already have. But, in my most humble opinion, that is the problem we perfume addicts always have. We are perfume druggies who, although we may have hundreds or thousands of perfumes, we always crave more. What is that about and why are we always looking for more? No wonder there are so many new perfume houses, as no matter how many perfumes we have, we always want more. We are perfume druggies! There is something about perfume that makes us all want more than we already have, even though we already have more fragrances than anything else we own. Sorry for my rant, but I am actually questioning myself. That being said, I bought that bottle of Nostalgia while on a trip to Italy many years ago. I am delighted to know that it is still available and has not been discontinued.

He was actually my first favourite when I started keeping favourites. 😆 Back when Starwalker was my signature in grad school. Wow those were the days. Really resonated with his skill at blending cedar. Plus Bottega Veneta edp and the Eau de Velours flanker still in my top 5 favourite scents on a woman. Props for Calligraphy Rose! The second Aramis I ever picked up. And the second rose scent after Potion Royal Black. 🌹 Sarah McCartney is even a fan. A worthy vid Ramsey. We do love our Zino don't we. 💛

I have my 2nd bottle of Minotaure, batch UV286S oct 2000. 80% full, smells fine. Guess I should use it more.

I peaked ahead on the list but haven't seen the whole video yet,I'm about to watch it. But I didn't know he did starwalker. I have 3 bottles of it it's one of my favorite calming scents. I totally agree when you said in Videos that it's relaxing. If you like starwalker ( I know it's not the typical scent guys like us like though) you may like Lacoste pour homme ( 2002 ,not Lacoste L'Homme) it smells similar to starwakker and has a soft relaxing vibe. But instead of a note of bamboo it has a relaxing soft plumb note. I got it before starwalker and it was raining when I got it and the smell and also the rain relaxes me. Then I got starwalker and I thought how much it relaxed me like Lacoste ph and coincidentally it was raining when I bought star Walker also . Both are great for just chilling and reading a book before bed.

I just bought a bottle of escada magnetism for him for £150 don't think that's to bad. It's a blind buy but I love anything with a fizzy drink vibe so looking forward to trying it!

Hi Ram, enjoyed the Almairac spotlight greatly! I never paid much attention to perfumers until watching your vids, and now must know who created every bottle - such an intriguing part of the pilgrimage. On Parfumo Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza is listed as an Almairac conception. Amazing. Just floored how frags from ends of the spectrum, Zino and Essenza (both loves for very different reasons) are from one perfumer. Pure genius!

Excellent video 👍 what a haul 🙌 I will have to keep my eyes open for a hascish bottle 👀 The vivara I sent you is from an unopened splash that I just opened when I sent the decant, which is why I believe the colour is different as well as the smell (no air). SOTD recently acquired 1982 bottle made in NY Antaeus.

Hello and thank you so much for this review! Michel Almairac is my favourite perfumer, his creations for the different houses are amazing and his Parle Moi de Parfum fragrances are so enjoyable. IMHO his Totally White is the perfect spring floral scent. And his Chopard Casmir is simply mesmerizing.

Thanks for the video! My bottle of Bentley Absolute is made in February 2022, and it’s very readily available at stores where I live. So I don’t think it’s discontinued-Parfumo is sometimes wrong about these things

The only Armani Prive fragrances I own are Bois Incense and Iris Celadon. I love both of them but neither one are long-lasting, but both are beautiful.

Hi Ram! I’m on a bit of a Michel Almairac kick lately 😀 So, I know For Sure (from someone who studied with JCE & knows) that Michel Almairac was the Junior perfumer on Fahrenheit (Sieuzac was the Senior perfumer and the frag was made under the advisement or with the advice/opinion of Maurice Roger). The formula itself, imho, has Almairac written all over it! Cheers!

I used to live in Rhode Island but was not aware of January Scents. It’ll be interesting to hear your thoughts on them. There is actually another niche brand in Rhode Island: Providence Perfume Company. They’ve been around for some time but not too long either. Interesting house but don’t own any.

I think michel almairac has been slightly pigeonholed into mainstream mediocrity, and he's not short of work, with a prolific back catalogue... but I can't help but feel he's not often given a brief with actual substance. But when he is, he's able to shine.... zino, lui, bois d'encens, cuir amethyst, gucci pour homme, minotaure, and especially with one of my all time favourites: the masterful Magnetism! proves that. I do think if he were given a decent budget and with a more openminded niche house, he would have been able to produce more magic.

@@RamseytheRam Buying a frag not sealed I think is risky especially if it's a high dollar one. How would you dispute it with the seller if what you got wasn't 100% genuine? If you think the buy it now one for $2600 is bizarre I have a pair of black Red Wing Billy Boots I bought for about $280 several years ago. I see those selling buy it now for as high as over $4,000.

No metallica (metalys) comes sealed, I have a couple of bottles from new... the gold thread you see on so many special guerlains that's goes over and through glass stoppers, that you normally have to cut to open, doesn't exist here. It's just rapped around the neck for decorative purposes. You're right to be apprehensive about the juice colour as I've never seen a variation even in partials... where is the bottle at and I'll give you my opinion if I think it's legit or not.

JSP’s stuff is so bold that it’s bound to be love/hate for most people. It is hands down my least favorite brand to date; the stuff was sickening to me, without exception. You may be placing yourself in an awkward position. How frank will you be able to be if the guy is due to be on your channel soon? Would you be able to say, let’s imagine, that you intensely dislike them all and find them poorly made on one day and then the next day host the dude on your show? You know I’m a fan. Just don’t see how you can be your usual blunt self after receiving a gift from the dude and then planning to get together with him.

@@RamseytheRam Good luck. I’ll be honest: You taking gifts from a perfume brand surprised me. It’s far more convenient to like something when you’re going to be meeting the owner than it would be if you hated them, and it’s hard to imagine that doesn’t lead to unconscious bias. Think about it: Would your ATH videos’ tone had been different if you were due to host him this Friday? Could you really be as ruthlessly honest with these? Maybe I’m projecting. I wouldn’t be able to say that I thought some perfumes were poorly made if I was going to be facing the guy soon. I’m too conflict averse.

I have always been a fan of brands sending out sample sets and discovery atomizers ... its the free bottles I have a problem with... 2 to 10ml is more than enough juice for someone to make a decision & write or make a review but not enough to influence someone... I have spent more on lunch than this sample set. Also i wouldnt have been able to explore houses like Parfums Quartana, Rania J, Papillon, Clandestine Laboratories, Areej Le Dore etc... now if you see a reviewer like myself go buy the full bottle with my own money like I did with Les Abstraits La Douleur Exquise... Eugene sent me a sample... I loved it enough to spend my own money on a bottle then you know its a true love...but a sample set wont influence people... at least i would be less worried about someone lying over a sample set compared to getting full bottles ...but thats just my opinion. I think I can get my nose on more fragrances this way so it allows me to do more videos than I otherwise would without the sample sets being sent my way 🙂

@@RamseytheRam I agree that brands sending samples creates less chance for conflicts of interest than does sending full bottles of, say, Roja, which the reviewer can turn around and unload for cash. It’s more that I’d think it’d be hard to be as blunt as you usually are if you’re going to be hosting the dude. Can you imagine if you were like, “Honesty, guys, this is some of the worst stuff I’ve ever encountered. None of it is for me. Falls into the trap so many indie perfumers do: Swings for the fences, and whiffs. I won’t be buying any bottles from JSP.” And then, “Drop by tomorrow for a chat with Jon of JSP.” Awkward! Maybe you have balls of steel and could be as ruthless with Beibel as you were with ATH, should you end up thinking the stuff is bad. (I agreed with your ATH assessment, btw.)
