Best: Short for best in class. A leader in its genre for scent AND performance AND versatility. Not many scents will achieve this rating. Difficult to substitute or replace.
Excellent: Above average. Excellent scent with unique features. Above average performance and can be worn in many situations.
Good: Average. Run-of-the-mill offering. Likely lacking in one or more department, but has some redeeming quality. Might be only useful for collectors of the brand.
Poor: A composition that fails to offer much of any value to the collector or connoisseur.

Laura Biagiotti Roma Uomo is very similar. Even the bottle has similarities in the materials used.

This is an absolutely a gorgeous fragrance. first I smelled it in a magazine and fell in love with it and bought it. I wore it for years and truly loved it. This is a kind of fragrance that makes you feel like you smell awesome. I highly recommend this, it is different and extremely well blended. This is without a doubt the best of Paloma Picasso!!

Superb! You left no stone unturned and did it with flair and concision. Very masterful. I wore Minotaure as a kid and used to think it was the best scent in the Western Hemisphere. Last year I missed it again so I bought a 125ml vintage bottle. Two days later I found my old 50ml. Typical. No matter. The more the Minotaure the better. God you did it justice!

I love this, used to be my signature fragrance back in the 90s. This was very unusual back then. It's hard to come by in stores now. Thanks for reviewing an old favourite!

I have been wearing this cologne for decades...its unique because most men don't even know it exists....i have had 100s of people tell me they love the scent after it settles down.

I bought it in 1995. I lost my mind when a friend wore it to a bar. I asked what the he'll r u wearing. It was such an original fragrance. I miss it!

I used to have a 125ml bottle of this as a kid. Lynx Africa was very, very similar. The colour of the juice sums it up - sweet, spicy, vanilla oranges.

Just to clarify folks, it's only the 50ml vintage bottles that have the double black ring on the neck of the bottle that 'Fragreviews' refers to. The 75ml and 125ml bottles do not have this detail.

The original Minotaure is most similar to Laura Biagiotti's Roma Uomo. The current version of Minotaure is a mere shadow of its former self and not worth bothering with. You'd be very lucky to track down a bottle of the original. www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Paloma-Picasso/Minotaure-1695.html

If this IS the original formulation by Cosmair and not the reformulation by L'Oreal... This stuff is the KING of Eau De Toilette's. Nothing comes close to matching it. I used to wear this throughout the 90's and girls wouldn't stop commenting about how amazing I smelt.

The 1992 formulation was my all time fav’ scent. The later formulation is similar, but nowhere near the same strength or longevity.

This gets compared to Roma per Uomo Laura Biagiotti for men; there was some hype about that fragrance a while back. Have you smelled both/can you compare?

Yes, they are almost identical. Minotaure even tastes sweet, hahaha, great fragrances.
