Love the bike! Be careful during the break in! 20 miles is all you need to break in the tires brother. Just don’t take any sharp corners until they’re heated up. Nice review and you can’t be skimpy when it comes to tread! I’m glad you like them

Chief, Michelin is a brand of tire you can feel good about having on your ride! The commander III's are a great choice to go with on your bike. Doug🏍️👍

I agree with you completely. I have a 2017 Scout which came stock with the Kenda tires. Pure garbage. Life threatening in the wet. I replaced them with the Commander lll's and, as you say, it improved the handling dramatically. Easy to balance too. Good choice.

I have Commander 3's ( Cruisers Reinforced ), on my 1500 Vulcan. The sizes match stock and am very happy with them. Any complaints about vibration / humming disappears quickly as the exterior finish scrubs off. Best gripping tires I've ever had on a cruiser. Going into year 2 on them and wear is awesome !....Can't see any !

I just got my commander 3 placed in the front of my bobber a few days ago and I feel that buzz vibration on smooth surfaces. It drives me nuts.
@TechNickRides Жыл бұрын
Hey FatStogie, I did experience that a little bit with mine for the first few hundred miles but it did seem to go away eventually. I do run the stock suspension on my Scout and I initially blamed that and kept an eye on tire air pressure as well, but after riding on them for a few hundred miles they seemed to get quieter and the traction is incredible. I hope they improve for you as well.
@stogie0608 Жыл бұрын
@@TechNickRides ahhh, sounds good then. I will ride mine longer and hope it goes away.

The buzz is a harmonic vibration caused by the tread grooves. Apparently Michelin have changed the tread patter slightly to eliminate the buzzing, and these are unofficially known as Commander III GEN #2. Michelin should have named the improved design as "Commander IV" to overcome any doubt or confustion. A lot of tire shops don't know, so it's possible to still end up the the GEN #1. Michelin have taken way to long to address this issue.

@@Jonathan-L thanks for the info. I learned to live with it. I must have gotten Gen 1 tires even tho the manufacture date on them is from 2022.

@@stogie0608 Hi Stogie, I admire your persistence. I had to get my new front Commander III swapped out in less than a hundred miles because the buzzing was intolerable. Was there any rubbing on the front fender when you first got these? i'm having an issue with a weird noise on my scout 2017.
@TechNickRides7 күн бұрын
No issues on the front fender rubbing on mine. I have about 12k miles on them currently. Grip , traction and wear are all great. They do seem to have a little vibration I notice sometimes, (not all the time it seems..)
