Really impressed with the Power 5s. Had a set fitted to my MT 09 and the rear lasted just around 13k km, the front still has at least 10k in it until it reaches the wear marks. Wet performance is definitely better compared to other rubber I've had in the past (Pilot Power 2CT and Pilot Power 3). Thread wear is very even, unlike the Power 3s which got bald on the sides with plenty of thread left in the middle (I do mostly twisty road riding and very rarely commute with my bike).

@@discy12345 It's kilometers so that would be about 8000 miles. They were POWER 5s on my MT 09. I was using 2.2 bar in the front and 2.5 in the rear tire. I have POWER 5s on my GSX-S 750 right now with around 5000 kilometers on them and they're not even halfway worn.

I replaced Power 5 with Battlax S22. The Power 5 had medium grip, a far amount of wheel spin that caused it to wear out fast. The Battlax S22 has excellent grip, huge improvement.

That Dunlop is like a touring tire and not even a good one should have used the Q3+ it’s almost same price and very close in terms of similar wear and traction! Probably knew it was better for the money so they used a cheaper Dunlop tire made of harder compound! But I could be wrong I’m no expert but have used them all and I do like Michelin some of the best tires I have used but man it’s hard to get away from the Dunlop!
@Juuul89

The Q3's are not available in europe, the sportsmart mk3 is the european equal. It's not a touring tire, that's the roadsmart 3. Dunno about the US testing but in europe, Dunlop has been scoring bottom of the barrel for years (out of the top brands).

Tired of Super Corsa SP getting thinner rubber by the years, Metzler Racetec 3k also don´t last . Maybe the Power 5 will be a downgrade in traction but I would like a safe tire that last longer and let me learn sliding in corners. Power GP or Cup probably overkill to try learning curve sliding. Any opinions about a good tire to learn sliding on a 675R ? And what about Michelin doing a specific youtube channel for motorcycle tires ?
@franklinwilkerson2061
@franklinwilkerson2061 3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend going to a track or killer twisties and using a good performance tire like these or bridgestone s22's etc... and then Slightly under inflate the front (under 30 psi) and Slightly over inflate the rear (over 32 psi) so you got plenty of grip on the front and the rear is a little loose. I'm gonna cheat so I'm awaiting delivery on a '16 r1 so I can learn corner sliding with its awesome slide control feature. I used to slide my '86 ninja 600 around back in the day on Dunlop 591's! But now I'm an old dude and wanna try some bitchin' electronics.

If you’re not much for riding in the wet, the Power Cup 2’s are absolutely amazing. Full lean right out of the gate. They almost give too much confidence, but it’s amazing how far these tires compounds have come in the last decade.
