Have had these for 2 winters and 1 1/2 years on my 2015 GMC Yukon Denali, 6.2 liter 420 HP V8. Now at 20,000 miles. Tire is fantastic in virtually all conditions. Just used them in 4" compacted unplowed snow (JAN 2024). Put car in AWD, turned off traction control and accelerated from stop at virtually full throttle. No wheel spin whatsoever. Braked down from 50 mph to stop as hard as I could. No ABS intrusion. Stopped straight and quickly. Went to empty parking lot and performed controlled drifts in figure 8 circles. Easy and near effortless to control any slide using throttle modulation. They perform just as well as when new. The aggressive tire tread suggests noise. NOT! They simply don't produce the in cabin noise, the aggressive tread suggest they might. BTW, I am a nationally certified racing and high performance instructor and do so for Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Audi, Jaguar, NASA, SCDA, Hooked on Driving and a host of other car clubs. Please consider these tires. You won't regret it. BTW, I have no connection or affiliation with Michelin whatsoever.

Just bought a set for wife’s car. Wow, huge difference between the worn all season on there before. I think they are even better than my dedicated winter i have on my car. We have a steep driveway and her vehicle with these tires just claws right up, where my vehicle with dedicated winter somehow struggles a bit... which is ridiculous considering i spent about the same for my winter as these crossclimate 2...plus now I have to swap tires every year. Folks, dont hesitate on these, my wife and I are more than impressed.

One of the best explanations of all the engineering features of a tire I have seen ! Well done. The trade off seems to be mostly mileage since you are admitting it starts with a winter - type compound (instead of the other way around). I drive a performance sedan and if this is all you give up it will still be worth it to avoid the hassle of switching tires twice a year.

Had the first version in my GLk 220d 4matic. It went thru snow, slush, dry scorching heat, rain like a champion. Very quiet and comfortable. My wife said that it feels like I upgraded the suspension. In summer was better than the original Goodyear Efficient Grip in all areas. In snow they gripped and had a very nice controlled feel. Loved them

I got a set 2 weeks ago and although it won't be snowing any time soon I can say dry and wet performance is better than I expected. There is a bit more road noise but I usually have the radio on so I don't notice it too much. Overall so far I'm satisfied with these tires.

@@jermaingarcia Hi Jermain. I haven't really done enough "dry road" trips yet to truly evaluate things like gas mileage & noise. But I can say that so far when I've then them on the dry highway they were just , felt really good actually. When I got the tires back from Costco, they had 38 psi...lowered that down to 34 psi..which improved the feel of tires for sure.

I bought these after learning about them from Jason Fenske. Researched them then bought them. Installed them two weeks before Storm Uri. I'm an old guy who has lived in Germany and Montana so I've driven in everything from black ice to -20F packed ice/snow--I like snow but I love Texas more and am glad to be home. That said, these tires have been great in driving rain and they did better on the snow/ice we had with storm Uri than any tire I've ever used before. I left Ft. Worth in 5 degree Fahrenheit temps and drove 125 miles further NorthEast. These tires provided tremendous traction, hence confidence, during the drive. Never needed chains. Very glad to have them on my 2021 RAV4 AWD. Thank you, Jason, for this timely information.

I got this tire almost 2 years ago, and loved the grip in wet/heavy down pour, confident in snowy and icy roads. BUT, as it ages above 25000 miles, it got noisier and noisier. I am at 58K miles on these tires and the noise is all the way from city driving > 20 mph all the way constant thrumming noise at highway speeds. Treads are still good and might last another 20K miles, but I cannot stand the noise anymore. Also as soon as I switched to these tires my mpg dropped from 42 to 37.5 mpg. I was willing to give the mpg for better traction, until the road noise is going to drive me nuts.

Driven them over 37,000 miles between 105F~-40F for 20 months now and they are wonderful. Such a hassle free tire that I do not have to think abut when I would need to swap the tires or if I swapped them too early. Do need a few extra psi to match the MPG of a HEV OEM Energy Saver A/S tires that is only good for MPG and none winter dry roads.

Very interesting video! I'm writing from Italy as an owner of a set of Crossclimate+ (very satisfied with them , after 50.000 kilometers still 4.5 millimetres remaining and good working on wet and snow). I have a question: when will we see these tyres in Europe? Will they be adapted to our climate (as the Crossclimate+ were more oriented to South Europe countries, I remark perfect with hot summers 40-45 degrees and mild winters 3 to 8 degrees)? Thanks!!!

Thanks for a great informative review. I live in the uk, drive a font wheel drive Renault kadjar. Fitted a set of cc2 a month ago. Very expensive, fortunately you get a lot for your money. To say they transformed the comfort of the drive over original factory fitted continentals isn't a exaggeration. We had 5 inches of snow they handled everything superbly, so much so I was looking for reasons to drive in the snow. Also they seriously reduce aquaplaning as I have tested on some deep standing water at speed with no drama just went straight through it straight as an arrow. If the mileage stacks up, well they will be the best tyres you can buy, especially for the uk climate, we literally can and do have all four seasons in one day. As far as fuel economy I haven't honestly noticed any real difference, If you experience a small drop, it's worth it to have tyres that give you confidence in all conditions.

Hey Jason, another great video I could have saved a lot of research if I had of seen this video before I bought the tires Because if a genius like you chose them, that would have been good enough for me, but this video just confirms I made the right choice My research was Tire Rack tests and an on-line tire size calculator These tires perform as well as some dedicated winter snow tires in the test, except a bit longer stopping on ice But perform almost as well as dedicated High Performance winter tires on ice They are the number one Grand Touring tire in all tests They stop almost as short in wet and dry and pull almost as many G-forces as tires in the Ultra High Performance group I really wanted these for my 2019 Audi A8, as a one tire solution, as I drive it like it's a German Lincoln town car, more focused on quiet smooth Luxury ride, then trying to turn it into a Porsche 911 Unfortunately they only come in two 20 inch sizes 245/45r20 and 245/40r20 and my car takes 265/40 r20 When I was looking to buy a used A8, I could not find a A8 with 19”wheels, as the 20” wheel is only a $1,200.00 option that everybody chose, apparently I checked the sizes and the 245/45r20 will work as it is almost the same height as the 275/35r21 that is an option on the car 28.58” for the 275/35r21 vs 28.68” for the 245/45r20, this also gives me almost as much sidewall as the 19” 4.34 inches for the 245/45r20 vs 4.52 inches for 255/45r19 that was standard on the car for a better ride, and the tread width is the exact same 8.6 inches as the standard 255/45r19 that the car also came with I am extremely happy as I can have fun in the winter when the days are warm and roads are clear without destroying the tires And drive on snow and ice with no worries and have awesome wet and dry braking when the days are warm and roads are clear This is as close to a one tire solution as it gets, also a long 640 tread wear, and on par pricing with the rest of the high end Grand Touring tires Not to mention saving the cost of 4 winter tires, mount, balance, TPMS and 4 OEM Audi A8 rims and changing twice a year

I bought these for my Bolt EV and little did I know they would have such a high rolling resistance. I'm coming from the OEM Michelin Energy Savers and these tires decreased my efficiency and range by over 10%. I was super bummed because I just had my battery replaced under a recall and they replaced it with one that has 10% more capacity and now I could make certain trips in the winter without stopping. After changing my tires to these CC2s that 10% more range was completely gone. I'm back to either stopping to charge, driving below the speed limit, or no heat. If I had put these on my minivan, it would cost me another 260+ gallons of gas in 40,000 miles. You can work it out with what ever price you pay for gas, but it's much more than the cost of the tires to begin with. You can immediately tell the rolling resistance. My Bolt calls for 38 PSI and when I had the Energy Savers the pressure may increase to maybe 39 PSI on the highway. These CrossClimate2s increase to 41-42 PSI. They handle great and all the reviews make it sound like there's no downsides. But MPG is one of them.

had the same OEM tires on my HEV and switched over to CC2. I add 4psi to the tires and they now match or exceed the MPG of the Energy Saver A/S. All Weather tires are softer so extra psi is fine especially when they are rated to 55psi as long as you feel safe with the driving dynamic of your vehicle.
@scottkolaya2110
@scottkolaya2110 Жыл бұрын
@@Jeo-What That's interesting. Thanks for the tip, but I already run the CC2s about 5 psi higher than the recommended pressure and the mileage is still way down. But honestly, I ran the Energy savers higher also (about 3psi). I just checked the rolling resistance and it's about 2kg more (for my car) for the CC2 than the Energy Savers which is about equal to the air resistance difference between going 60 and 65mph. This checks out because to get the same range (efficiency), I need to slow down on the highway about that exact amount. Maybe next time, I'll crank it up closer to the max for just the highway, but obviously, if I left it there, it would wear out the center too much. They handle great in the snow though.
@Jeo-What
@Jeo-What Жыл бұрын
@@scottkolaya2110 based on my experience, the extra psi only helps at lower speed and the air resistance at High speed cancels out all the benefit from the extra psi. Few options to increase MPG, lower the vehicle, remove the roof rack or use a set of tires with less surface contact to the road and i am not doing any of them😉

Destroyed my shoulder on first ski day of new season. My observations over the first 5 kmi are they had slower and less precise turn in that previous Michelin UHP all seasons, were noiser includeing odd road surface resonances especially on crosscut ecpressways and used about 5% more fuel at normal 70 mph speeds. May still get another set on my 17 Highlander awd. .. Aged out of downhill though.

Have a Honda CRV LX 2013 bought used last year. Need to replace original tires(age and dry rot), but have good mounted Blizzak snows. Several tire shops steered me away from the CrossClimate saying it will become noisy after a couple of years of wear. Maybe was true for CrossClimate, but is it true for the newest CrossClimate2? CrossClimate SUV? When will Michelin come out with 215/70/16 in CrossClimate2? Am I better off using my mounted Blizzak snows for winter and buying Michelin Defender for no snow weather? I wonder if tire shops see the real all season/snow/ice capabilities of the CrossClimate2 as a threat to getting you for twice a year visits when they can sell you on other services and 2 sets of tires? Your advice is welcomed. Thanks!

I have brand new tires Michelin Cross Climate 2 DOT 2023, but have some very strange noise when slightly turning left/right at high speed (80+km). I passed calibration front and rear axle and everything is ok on the suspension. The noise is only expressed at speeds above 80 km/h and is of a non-constant nature and is quite annoying. Any guesses if it could be from the tire tread, I didn't expect such a problem from such a high end tire. Are other people having a similar problem? After 1000km passed, noise is quite lower, but still exist.

I had the the CCP's hydroplane very badly a few weeks in a moderate downpour so I know they going to be horrible in the snow and the reviews seems to support my assumption. So far Ive had nothing but good experiences with the 2 sets Michelin tires the last 5 years. Im looking forward to improving the ride and safety of the current driver.

Hi! how does the cross climate to compare with the latitude tour hp?
@michelinman
@michelinman 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for reaching out to us for clarification between CrossClimate2 and Latitude Tour HP. Yes, the tires are in different categories, and we do not have direct internal test numbers to share between them. The CrossClimate2 is an All Weather Directional tire, depending on where you live and your climate. These tires are good for spring, summer, fall and moderate snow and ice. These tires are great in dry braking, wet braking handling and ride comfort. They have 60,000mile warranty, 6 years standard warranty and 60 day Michelin protection plan. www.michelinman.com/auto/tires/michelin-crossclimate2 Another thing when deciding the tire you want you will want to look at the load capacity and speed range that your vehicle recommends. As for the Latitude Tour HP, it is an All Season asymmetrical tread tire. The Latitude Tour HP is an All season performance tire with excellent fuel efficiency and comfort. The warranty for these tires are 45,000 mile - 55,000 mile warranty and 30,000 on the run flat tires. 6 year standard warranty and 60 day Michelin protection plan. www.michelinman.com/auto/tires/michelin-latitude-tour-hp

My question is, how come the Michelin Cross Climate 2 does not come in size 265/45 R20? Michelin might want to answer this question.I would like to buy these tires for my Mercedes Benz ML 350 BlueTec SUV but the Cross Climate 2 is not available on that size. My other option is the Michelin Cross Climate SUV which comes with the size for my vehicle. What’s the difference between the Cross Climate 2 and Cross Climate SUV? It might be worth trying these tires because I live in western Canada where sometimes we get a moderate amount of snow in the winter.

@michelinman 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Thank you for reaching out about the CrossClimate2! We are still rolling out more and more sizes for the CrossClimate2. The 265/45R20 CrossClimate2 is planned, and while we do not have an exact date confirmed, we are aiming for a Spring 2022 release. The CrossClimate SUV is a predecessor to the CrossClimate2 specifically tuned towards SUV driving. Like the CrossClimate2, the CrossClimate SUV excels in both summer and light snow conditions, in addition to having off-road capability on dirt and gravel.

What does the three notches on the backside of every tread block do for the tire looks like it was not on the previous generation
@michelinman
@michelinman 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rick, thank you for reaching out with your inquiry. The three notches are the 3D Sipelock technology which provide biting edges to tie tread blocks together to act as a single tread block. Acting as a single block can allow for control in wet conditions without losing tread block stability, sporty handling in dry conditions, improved resistance to tread wear, and allowed for snow traction without sacrificing stability.
