It sounds like their health insurance LV employees get is better than most companies or federal and local governments give. It is a matter of what your priorities are. The department store discount she got was much more practical than the LV discount.

Hey! Thanks for an interesting video! Lovely to hear that you got the 20 percentage discount when you worked at Nordstrom. I haven't been to them myself, but I assume that they're like Saks. Fascinating that seeing LV bags and being at the store became so mundane for you after working there. I remember when I first began visting LV, and I thought that it was so exciting to visit the stores, and I was always so excited to make purchases at LV. However, as I started to visit the stores more frequently and as my collection began to grow it became more mundane and less exciting. Furthermore, it was nice to hear that you got a discount on the shawl. I've also had the experience with LV shawls that they often get very snaggy that's why I anymore rarely purchase them. Answering customers text on personal time can be annoying. I work in the business field and find myself often answering work emails on my own time. Delightful that you got some good discounts on ready to wear pieces. I hope that you'll have a lovely weekend!

I would think you get paid alot and part of the incentive is having a huge discount.🤣. Companies always do that, they short change the front line workers and pay executives so well.

I love that black cardigan I’m glad you got to keep it. I was expecting that LV will take care of their employees because their definitely the veins of the brand and the reason why customers buy the bags is through their SA. ohh I love that new wave sandals and yes the shawl and I paid a full price but I bought awhile back so it was cheaper that nowadays prices.

I actually wear the black cardigan quite a bit, along with the pink shawl and the sandals, they are staples in my evening wardrobe! I would not pay full price though, especially knowing the mark up! 😂

Wow I love your videos and your transparency - it’s understandable to feel jaded with that treatment in addition to dealing with customer demands and entitlement. I think YSL might treat employees better but not sure if others have more info on that.

I enjoyed the honesty and all the info. And yes, I called my SA who was rather new about my bag and she answered her phone while at the dentist office. Wowww I felt really bad that I interrupted her on her off day. Omgeee. She was very nice and was willing to assist me, but it wasn't urgent or anything that couldn't wait until she was on the clock.

Yes, they can’t be ordered to answer customers because that is considered working. Those associates should log all those times. Because they can be compensated for it.

I work at the Repair Center in NJ. This is very accurate. I should send this to my family so they stop asking me. Haha. I got some great belts and shoes. Everything else, it’s not super great. But they are good for Xmas gifts haha

I have heard that QVC has a similar policy with their employees. The hot selling products are harder for them to get because customers get first priority.

Im a manager for Cole Haan I’m so excited you mentioned us! I’m in Vegas and help a lot of sales associates at brands like LV and always am told our footwear is the best in the business :)

I love your videos (even though I don’t care for Louis Vuitton, think the algorithm suggested you because I follow Gucci). Truth be told you have the appearance more of a client than a sales associate, you’re just really well put together and very eloquent. Saying that, I’ve been in the stores before and I am quite certain the halcyon days of the sophisticated, discerning luxury customer are well and truly over Years ago at the behest of my aunt who works at Vuitton, I went for an interview to work as a sales associate. ‘You’ll love it,” she told me, because I love fashion. The HR very wisely put me through my paces by enacting a scene in which an irate customer had brought a faulty bag back and she did her best to mimic the agitation of said customer. I froze as I had no idea what the protocol was - do I call senior management, or do I try to smooth talk my way through it and pass it off as ‘you bought it, you treated it roughly. It’s your fault’? Suffice to say I did not get the job, and now I watch your videos, I Guess I dodged a bullet.

Yes, any form of work on a work phone off the clock is a violation against labor law. I know it is for California but not sure how other states would have it.

Your right about LV. Cause I bought mine from Posh. It’s large bag with gold hardware as I have to have a zipper on my bags. The price was perfect and bought for $1100. when pandemic already started and didn’t mind the delivery 📦 wait time. This bag was gorgeous although preowned it was so clean like brand new. Very happy with it. ❤️

I worked a the Limited over 30 years ago and basically spent my entire check in the store. 😃 The discounts were amazing but my other favorite store Bebe I heard had the same shenanigans described here so I gave up on the idea of working there part time for a discount.

We did get a flash sale at Celine, Kenzo, as well as Loewe last summer, but we could only access the 20% discount on their employee RTV websites, we had to use our Client Advisor email, and include the discount code. So, it does still happen, rarely.

@@dialmstyle For Celine, yes, major discounts on Celine bucket bags, and wallets. But all ladies leather stuff also in wacky colors like gold leather, or yellow, get so I didn't have much use as a guy. But I did get some deals from Kenzo, but that's it.

In Texas it’s against the law to work off the clock. They can only do that if you’re salary and full time.

Hm when i talk with my sa she mentioned owning many chanel bags and have this and that lv bag too, so her salary must be 4000-5000€. Not sure if usa is different, but the way SA in LV look down to customer “who only come to repair or buy a small slg” show that they cant be earning that little that cant buy an Lv bag that cost more than their payslip.

Michelle, can an employee sell on ebay the items he/she buys at an employee discount? Is there a special marking on the bags employees purchase from the discounted stock? If it's not allowed to sell these itmes, what happens to the employee who does sell their items?

Only leather pieces are stamped. So if an employee gets rtw, shoes, home goods, they can easily flip it Ebay. But the safer thing to do would be sell through Insta resellers or places like therealreal where it's impossible for LVMH to track who's selling. But the downside would be employee getting less money.

It is illegal in France for an employer to mandate employees to answer E-mail and/or text messages after the working day is finished. Go figure they'd do it in the U. S. where employers expect employees to be available 24/7... sigh

@@dialmstyle its both ridiculous and sad. The impulse buys you spoke of....people will skip paying their rent or other bills in order to buy something with that logo. It's still the most accessible/affordable brand with cache. A Chanel or Hermes bag is going to cost you more than a month or two rent/car payment/utilities. 🥴🤣
