Michigan is so underrated this year. Their defense will be special and will be extremely physical and aggressive. When they shut down Texas at the Big House in week 2, the doubters will go quiet.

Also, Michigan recruits players that will stay the course and be developed. This was on full display with last years team. They are character kids and not always highly recruited that put the team first and put individual successes on the slow burner. You can’t underestimate the camaraderie in the locker room when everyone plays for each other. That’s what makes a great football team.

Michigan football reminds me of their basketball team a decade + ago under J Beilien. They both recruited specific players to fit their scheme and coaching culture. They don’t necessarily need 5*s, the scheme/coaching is the 5* Character & intelligence is more important to them than actual physically gifted players.

Wouldnt say the formula is superstars & no weaknesses rather developmental standouts, least team mistakes, & physicality of execution that is the reason why Maize Blu won it all & may repeat this yr for same reasons, as teams spreadem out Michigan punches them in the mouth

Michigan does an excellent job of recruiting players that perfectly fit their system and culture, not chasing after star rankings. They are building a TEAM not a "collection of talent", many of whom will transfer away within two years. Oregon is far more important than Texas. First, it's a conference game critical to getting to the Big Ten Championship and CFP. Second, it is the 9th game so the "we're young and inexperienced" excuse won't fly. Finally, EVERY talking head in the country is guaranteeing this game to the Ducks as if they are the KC Chiefs. It'll be fun hearing their expert backtracking Nov.3.

Move over Ohio State and Michigan, new members teams in the conference will pose a great challenge to existing elite in Big Ten. Scheduling 8 home games, playing Appalachian St. and Mid American teams, no longer will exempt The Big Two.

Guys, I’m true Blue but this is shaky. The biggest flaw is equating all “blue chips.” The difference in quality between a top 50 recruit and a ~300 4 star is at least as large as the gap between that 4 star and a generic 4 star. Michigan’s average here is largely because it had a class almost full B/B+ players. Ohio has some A/A+ players in this class. Hypothetically on talent alone, would you trade classes given the chance? Yup. 🤷‍♂️

Michigan will be okay depends on how well things gel and get started offensively. I like Michigan vs Texas will answer a lot of questions for both teams should be a fun match up.

Michigan v. Oregon will be the game of the year. More important than Texas and. more important the OSU game. Win Oregon, and they will make the playoffs.
