He was a really talented,handful of a Centre forward,and particulary loyal..And I enjoyed watching him as a panelist(He was very honest with his opinions!)But some of the acholades bestowed on him,fastest player,only English to be considered 'World Class' not so sure about those!..But it was a interesting Docu!👍

Never mind a different time, more like a different planet. The Southampton set up was more akin to a pub team and the pitch looked like Mike's horses had been on it. Ian Turner and Jim McCalliog looked like they had just done time. It was great that Mike was rewarded for his loyalty though when they beat Utd in the cup final.

He played for bristol rovers for few months and never scored .when he left a reporter said to him. You never got a goal for them mick. His reply was .the way rovers play football I would have never scored

He was a good player but nowhere near world class or a superstar. He won rather a lot of caps in a period when England didn't qualify for tournament finals. There are better England strikers before and after him.
