Most critics and plenty of fans! were disturbed by the strange compressed sound mix( LONG STORY WHY) which doesn't sound unusual at all now.

As I had the honour to have met Mick in a private place in Amsterdam: as I am not one off the fainting type: I was invited to sit next to him: I saw the man behind his fame but very intelligent and interesting and gentleman, now 28 years later I must only show respect and admiration what he and his guys achieved ( and rest off the musicians!) I did met many celebrities but only one Mick Jagger🙏🍀❤️

It goes without saying the Stones are one of the most successful bands ever and Mick is a great frontman. What I have found watching Mick being interviewed through the years is that he has never changed and always comes across as down-to-earth, honest and always very chatty. Great interview.

Mystique is the reason The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Paul McCartney have had such long and successful careers. Mystique is very hard to acquire, but it is difficult to lose. Mystique can survive bad albums, bad performances, even a bad decade. However, new generations will always pay to breathe in the aura of mystique.

Could someone enplane to me why each member of the Rolling Stones has the same depression in both cheeks? I used to think it was from alcoholism or now it seems more likely it's from plastic surgery. Other people the same age don't have this facial feature. Any ideas? It almost looks like some kind of automobile accident has deformed their faces. But the same exact look on all of them?

Funny about the comments about Mick Jagger and plastic surgery and hair color. I don't think he's had plastic surgery because his cheeks are too indented compared to men who I can tell have had it. Yes, of course he colors his hair...heck when I turned 40 I started getting more and more grey hairs. I don't have a problem with dieing hair because it's external and cosmetic, no less constantly shedding. It's not like sticking foreign objects in your boobs or stretching your skin. I'm glad he hasn't had plastic surgery because it changes your face and eyes, so I'd rather he grow older gracefully, that is, naturally. He moves like a youngster. This was four years ago, so the lines keep coming and I hope he never succumbs to a facelift. For someone whose had a big ego and/or perhaps vanity, it's a little unexpected because I have seen other men do it. (OK, that was a lot to say about a superficial subject, or is not?) The only problem I have with Mick is he's not a little girl's idea of Prince Charming Rock Star we dream of regarding his relationships with women; Prince Rock Star doesn't cheat on you. Thus, I'm not some obsessed fan-girl who is a doormat or let's that slide--I just tell it like it is. Hated hearing that stuff from 12 years old onward. But I often say that Mick is at the top of my best front man list of a band (as opposed to Elvis or James Brown as a sort of solo act with a backing band). He's also more outgoing in his interviews compared to 60s-80s where he often came off as aloof, disinterested, and almost snobby in a way, at least more often. So apart from the women stuff, Mick has paid his dues, they're a great band, and I respect him on most other matters, and extracurricular projects he's done such as movies, producing something, etc. I like that he's pretty frank and straightforward when interviewing now, and he _can_ be funny. At the moment it is very sad how he lost his girlfriend L'Wren Scott--a very painful way to lose someone. Time most often heals the severity of wounds, and performing (anyone's job) tends to help give your mind a break from thinking about it. Fans want everything they can get from the Stones while they are still able to tour, and isn't it great that 52 years into it all that they can. Well, that's my Mick speech of the day. (Yeah, I write novels a lot.) ((:
@Grendelmonster8u
@Grendelmonster8u 10 жыл бұрын
***** No, not really. You'd think they'd know getting into a relationship given a very public track-record, but fame, money, lifestyle and all that, makes them think they can deal with it. Or as with any relationship that's not with someone famous, people think the person will change, will think they will be different and have the person's undying love, but they've got no good reason to think that given one's track record. So what you're saying is that women would think it's worth it to be a doormat and "easy." But eventually they can't take it anymore because what hurts hurts. Yes, my fellow women are shallow and have no self-respect. If they want to take that risk and ride the wave, I just don't want to hear them crying afterwards, which they all have done. I'm not sure what you mean about someone who is verbally cruel and a bore...what's relative? There's nothing relative--you don't barter with infidelity because it's a lie, and why would you stay with someone who is verbally cruel and a bore? Just find someone who is not verbally cruel and a bore and who doesn't cheat on you. There are people out there who are like that. It's ironic: Mick was in a movie The Man From Elysian Fields, and James Coburn has a little monologue where he's giving Mick's character some advice. It would be wise to take it. It has been said by several very good writers that Mick has a kind of contempt for women. Sexual attraction isn't love. I don't know if or who Mick ever really really loved, but if there was, it was many decades ago. Things he's said in the last 10 years...well, if I had been with him while he said those things, I'd be out the door; it's easier to pull out a splinter fast. (So I learned.) But not to be a realistic bummer, other than that I like Mick just fine. He's a bit complex, not always easy to figure out, and some people are harsh about him, (not that any of us are perfect or don't do annoying things, like be cheap or the like)...I don't know. I hear what Keith says...I hear all different things, but it's not something I have to deal with. I wasn't happy about the Jerry Hall business, but she too walked into it while he was still married to Bianca. As the world turns.... Regardless, I've always put Mick in my top leading men spot...go figure. I guess I can be objective enough. (: It's funny, he says people wouldn't want him to be the way he is on stage all the time, and I'm thinking why not? (Half kidding, we have to be serious, mellow, or something some times.) Some rock star said, "You are everything you do and say in public." That's true. If you choose some kind of image, that choice is yours, your thinking, thus _you_. Of course this can get confusing. Have a great night.

***** Accepting someone for who they are--would you accept a wife beater, a verbally abusive person, or a cheater? These are behaviors and not necessarily the person's nature--their innate nature. Those are things that can be changed and ought to be changed if you hurt people yet want those people you hurt. Very few people like open relationships. I suggested that to a boyfriend once (just testing the idea) and he said 'No!" Most men who cheat would not like their partner to cheat or sleep with others, which is a one-way street. In my experience, women who put up with their partners cheating, and even go so far as to claim it's OK with them, are lying. I have been seeing this and hearing this all my life from women who dated married men, were "kept" women, who got lots of nice things and presents, but then I'd hear them get miserable about it. I have a great example of a co-worker who did this, and the guy wasn't even good-looking. They have an issue inside of them to put up with that shit to get furniture, a nice condo, etc. Especially young women--they are even more gullible to that. I have my own experiences too, but quickly exited. A psychologist told me about a psychologist friend in Hollywood area whose patients are on anti-depressants because they are unhappy in their marriages, but instead of leaving they don't want to lose the lifestyle (producer husbands, etc.) They have loveless marriages, shouldn't be on anti-depressants, but rather go find someone who will give them the time and love they want. That is their decision. As far as Mick and his chronic women behaviors...he said something about his ways being "bohemian" and that marriage is not for him, apparently, and this during being with his long term love who is now deceased, sadly. There's nothing necessarily bohemian about cheating on people who don't want to be cheated on. He's wanted his cake and to eat it too. He (and others) pay a price for that. He doesn't need creams or cosmetic surgery for his fame works way better than those things he doesn't need. So the question to these men would be, "Do you think you've paid a price for it? What has been the cost for such behaviors?" To be crude because I have to be, was it worth it to stick your dick in some random woman's ____ who you didn't even love but were captured by lust and beauty by chance?" Do you like having people attracted to you who would not be if not famous and wealthy, etc.? Seriously, young girls and a 70 year old? I would have never ever been interested in a 60-something or 70 year old when in my 20s. How do you even fucking related to someone who has not even experienced a whole lot--I certainly had more to go in my 20s and my youth wasn't usual. As someone wrote, these women have been masochists. It isn't worth that sinking feeling one gets when they find out someone has slept with someone else, and the men hate that feeling too. I don't know if people ever stop cheating given the attention, temptations, and beautiful women (or young women) that seek them out, but that is their problem, not mine, and I have no illusions. If women want to sell out their true feelings and desires, that's their problem, but they won't get respect from me especially when they go into a situation that has a high probability that it could happen. That's sad. I'm thinking of Linda Rondstadt's song "Long Long Time." Who knows the cost? is a line in it. Often it's not realized until it's too late. That happened to a boyfriend I broke up with, so he later told me. So...that's stuff to think about. How would you personally deal with it? It's such a big issue in relationships...my parents divorced. Though I have to admit that ultimately it turned out well since they were never really meant for each other, and she eventually found someone who is. Have a great day.

***** I am expressing what many feel and have said, including myself, that is all. So yes, they are thoughts and feelings for many, and the majority, as has so easily been proven. Of course, as I stated, others may think it is OK, but that is rare. It did not work well for Marianne Faithfull...as I said some of it has to do with issues within oneself not realized at the time. And then there are the delusional gold-diggers who I mentioned and have known well. This article about Marianne pretty much says what I went through in my late teens and early 20s, well, actually longer than that until I stopped. We tell little lies to ourselves; we seek intimacy at times when there's no real intimacy; we do things which we should know better; we think we are being free, but we're really not. Sometimes it is just meaningless sex, but often after having been out drinking. Sometimes it takes years to examine and realize what was _really_ going on. A price was paid, self-respect gets lost, if you always live in the moment and do not examine the past, you can become a recidivist feeling shame but then going back and doing the same thing over and over, until you wake up. It didn't truly work well for years for Marianne. Along with that was all the drugs and things the article states. A person can do whatever they want, but if they are hurting people and then losing them, then sad about losing them, well, that needs to be examined. I think you're missing that point...that there is a cost for what we choose to do. It could be positive or negative, but on this subject matter, the negative cost may not be only for yourself but for your children. Even children who adapt to divorce still have all that parental muck in their minds--there has been much research about this. I have a book on the long-term effects of divorced children who were followed throughout their lives. Again, my thoughts are in the majority. And again, And very often, cheaters don't like the idea of _themselves_ being cheated on equally even they have no logical reason to feel that way. It is also humiliating to be cheated on by a very public person and then the whole world knows. What matters is that two people agree on what is love or how they want things to be, and if one doesn't want infedility, then you either agree with that or have the decency to get out of the relationship and be tied to no one. It is also important to your own psyche not to lie to yourself and pretend it's OK when you don't really want that. There are a lot of special, interesting, humorous, etc. people out there in the world--don't be false with yourself, is all. No one is worth selling out your soul. It took me too long to learn that. And definitely money or fame can't buy _me_ love; I'm willing to pay the cost for that; I'd rather be alone than deal with that nonsense. Enough said, here's the article. www.telegraph.co.uk/women/sex/10296390/Marianne-Faithfull-It-wasnt-just-Mick-Jagger-who-couldnt-get-satisfaction.html

***** I forgot to mention...I realize that I am not only talking about Mick, and it feels a little bad timing considering that his girlfriend committed suicide this past March, but I'm sure he won't be reading this, and it goes back to so long ago. I don't think that Mick is a maudlin person, but still, it is a difficult thing to grapple with, and one that has never happened before to him. It leaves people questioning everything, but it is not anyone's fault. I think I said before that there are a bunch of things I like about Mick, just not this issue; I can't pretend otherwise like some weirdly blind obsessed fans do.

***** You missed the forest for the trees. And we can certainly judge anything we want to--we judge all the time--it is part of daily discussions and choices in our lives. We judge ourselves, we judge others, who we like, who we don't, who we want to be friends with, what will we do, a movie, a book, what car to buy, on and on. Marianne judged herself; Mick was a part of her time. It may be that Mick's problems go a lot deeper than having an open relationship too. You keep saying "each to their own" when I already stated it's their problem and choice, no shit...it's called discussion. If we just said to each their own and never discussed anything we would never learn anything or learn to THINK. I made myself very clear. You don't have to defend others' actions, you know, you can offer your own thoughts rather than the obvious "to each his own." ~shrug~

Mich Jagger keeps saying "luck." The Stones were created. Who made the Stones into what they became was the founder of the Stones -- Brian Jones -- and Jagger does not mention him once. Their success was not a matter of being in the "right time at the right place"--there were hundreds -- thousands -- of aspiring bands in the early sixties--and only a handful found true long-lasting success. Stones success was not a matter of luck, nor even simply of talent-- it was Brian Jones' understanding of R&B, his interest in experimenting with music and new sounds, Jones' ability to communicate what he wanted to Jagger and Richards, and the image and attitudes that he created, which Jagger and Richards essentially imitated. Brian Jones really taught both Mick Jagger and Keith Richards how to be and what it meant to be Rolling Stones. It was his vision that created this band. Both Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have really failed to do justice to the most fundamental truth about the band and the reason for its success.

+Atomic Lobotomy Brian Who? We didn't come here for a history lesson. We're here to listen to Mick Jagger, not to you. Have some respect. The guy can't name every important name in a short interview. I'm sure he's mentioned that guy many times. Anyway, it's all God's doing. Just like he said. They were in the right place at the right time.

"The right place at the right time" is just another way Mick shows his thoughtlessness, indifference, and ingratitude. Mick is what in UK is called a c*nt. Well, Mick Jagger became superstar, legend, rock immortal, etc. but he'd never be anywjere without Brian Jones, who picked him out after Brian's first choice, Paul Jones, turned him down. (Paul Jones became vocalist for Manfred Mann, and later had brief solo career--arguably, much better singer than Jagger. ) Anyways, now Jagger hangs out with Taylor Swift, so he's found his true level.

Bollocks. Brian Jones had essentially been pushed out of the band by 1968. He created the band and had influence for sure but it diminished over time as the songwriters came to the fore as well as their stronger personalities. Brian Jones only wrote rubbish as Jagger and Richards both testified and not one Jones track was ever released on record. He was curious and creative but Jones would've been nowhere without Jagger and Richards.

Dave MM Brian Jones was not a songwriter --but he was an inspiration and essential to the band and without him the Stones quickly went downhill creatively. Their last good album was Sticky Fingers. Jagger was actually more creative on his own -- Jagger's Primitive Cool in the 80s was a much better album than anything the Stones were doing at the time or since. He was about to go solo and then lured back by the bucks. The Stones have basically just become a tribute band to what they were in the 60s, which is to say, the band that Brian Jones created.

"...how the group has managed to remain relevant and on its game for four decades" says Larry. Right, the last song that had any relevance was "Start Me Up" from about 1980/81 but...and it is kinda relevant, that song itself was written in the '70s and was a left-over that didn't make the cut. 'Still relevant' only because of Britain, the English language, the legacy industry and the old people's lack of embracing the technological music. I am one of them., but come on Larry,, you were then starting to be irrelevant

Tom, you couldn't be more correct! Start Me Up also sucks! I still can't understand why they always play the fucking thing. "Heaven" or even "Dancing With Mr. D" would be better picks!
