Micro Machines: World Series has the presentation nailed and feels like playing with toy cars again. However, once the glitter of that presentation wears off you’ll find a game that controls way too loosely to give any kind of satisfaction and more frequently provides frustration, and furthermore nothing to really incentivize you to push beyond that without anything to unlock. To paraphrase the Micro Machines Slogan, “If it doesn’t control good, it’s barely worth playing.”

10 tracks and 12 vehicles...those kind of numbers were fine in the SNES days, but you'd think today they could do 20 or 30 tracks with ease. It was the track design that i remember on the old SNES game that made it fun to play.

This video shot my nostalgia through the roof, i tore through my old toy drawer and dug out one of my micro machines, now i'm rolling it on my thumb, such good memories...

I don"t get my head around the fact that the FREE and nearly identical iOS game this PS4 version is based on had amazing controls and perfect physics. How could they run this franchise against the wall by taking away it's core strength? Explain, someone.

Glad i saw a review before i bought. All i wanted was a single player experience with couch gaming option like the mega drive version. Too much faff in this version that i can't be bothered with.

It's $5 right now at redbox to buy...was tempted but you kind of threw me with the dead online community, will probably pass. Great review though, thanks!

this game is poop compared to Micro Machines V4, which is a shame because the graphics are solid. They should have released a patch to fix the gameplay

Sometimes I feel people who shit on this game never played the original "ooohh the cars slip around too much!" Play the original and see how much the cars slip in that I am only disappointed by no single player but for £20 I feel I got a lot of bang for my buck

Simon Hartstone I played and love the original and this is just a complete piece of shit compared to it (in my opinion), id prefer they just got the original and brought it over to next gen
