Welcome back to QueHeidi! I am a licensed beauty professional with a focus on skincare and lash extensions. I run my own solo practice in sunny Florida.
In this video, I am doing a micro-needling tutorial at home on myself to show what I like to do. I am a professional so please make sure you consult with your medspa esthetician. I am a licensed professional but I do not offer this on my menu for my personal clients due to my state's regulations on needle depth allowed without a doctor's oversight.
However, I do plan on adding nano channeling into my esthetician business starting in January 2022.
Please note: The needles I am using are not as invasive as others. There are different types of needling heads for different reasons. I am not being too aggressive because it has been a while since I've done this treatment I like to start gentle and work my way up with each session.
I have suffered from cystic acne in the past for several years and it wasn't until I wanted to go to school and do this for a living is when I was able to get my skin under control. I love the skin I'm in and strive to take care of her.
I only hope to share valuable information with consumers, other beauty professionals and have fun on this new KZfaq journey.
Please feel free to connect with me and leave a comment below.
~xoxo
Heidi
Below are some products that I used in the video:
Dr. Pen
For Pro 4x4 lint-free cotton pads
Cos De Baha Hylauronic Serum
Circadia Vitamin C Serum
Skinscript Aloe Moisturizer

I appreciate your video very much! You’re the first person I’ve seen on KZfaq that doesn’t have ‘perfect skin’ and your using this device. That’s incredibly helpful, to see someone w/similar, textured skin(even though yours isn’t very noticeable.) I keep coming across videos of people using this device and their skin seems too perfect and it’s not helpful. I’m looking for someone who actually has some sort of skin issues that they’re are trying to correct with this and that’s why I will follow you to see what your results are. I’ve done one treatment on myself so far. Hoping you achieve your desired results & that you keep it up! Definitely can’t be easy making these videos!

I'm so glad I found your channel; very informative learned alot from this vid. Can you use a numbing cream on the prior to microneedling? And yes, do a before and after, also can you do a video showing a hydrofacial machine?
@Heidisspalife
@Heidisspalife 2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use a numbing cream. I am personally used to it so opt out of any excess chemicals if I can. The needles in this video are not aggressive so I think most would be able to handle it. The lower the needle count the more aggressive and likely you'll need numbing cream. Also a big yes to the machine. Im working on a few videos as we speak so stay tuned.

I'm glad I found your channel. I noticed it about a week ago and meant to watch this video. So I'm glad it came up in my recommendations again. I've heard about how microneedling can help produce collagen and help with stretch marks. I've lost quite a bit of weight so I've wondered if it could help with loose skin on the face and arms? So I've been watching a number of videos about both microneedling and nanoneedling.
@Heidisspalife
@Heidisspalife 2 жыл бұрын
It will definitely help make the skin appear tighter and refine it, but everyone skin is different especially on the body. Depending on how extensive the stretch marks and loose skin are it can take many sessions for it to get it the way you want. Even then it will not be 100%. The best way to help first to determine how much loose skin there actually is would be to start a weight training routine. This is just based on my own observation. Many people who have loose skin and then weight train will actually benefit and have a reduced appearance. The combination could also help improve loose skin and stretch marks.

Thank you for the video 😊 I am an RN so I learn pretty quickly. I am in the process of researching. I see that you are using hyaluronic acid for glide and I keep reading it’s good for the skin. Is there anything else that can be used that you suggest as I tried the hyaluronic from the ordinary and I felt it made my skin dry 🫣 so I returned and it was put on while my skin was damp followed with a moisturizer. I have pretty good skin but I am seeing that I have 2 smile lines that I want gone and I’m hoping this will help. Thank you so much for your time take care!

Nice video thanks! How does the pen not tear skin when you drag it around skin and it’s pulsing up and down? I would have thought on the downstrokes it could tear if you move
@Heidisspalife
@Heidisspalife 14 күн бұрын
The needles itself is going in and out at such a rapid speed and very shallow depths that it does not end up tearing the skin. Where you can get into trouble is if you have your pen set to a low speed and are move the pen too fast that might cause an issue. However when it comes to depths we are dealing with 1.2 (.5) mm on the very surface of the skin.

Hello there and no I didn't use numbing cream, but I am also used to it. I would not advise using Aloe but rather for you to use a serum. Greetings, for my skin type personally I do not get red easily. After something like this, I'm only red for 2 days. Now if someone is more fair skin, or has compromised skin, they might have redness for up to a week if done carefully and not over manipulated. Some people have posted super tomato-red faces and then add a peel after micro-needling yeah that should not be done if they tend to get red easily it could be a sign of more sensitive skin and they are doing more harm than good. I hope this helps.

Hey there personally I wouldn't use a lotion for micro-needling there are many more ingredients that derive lotion that can be irritating to the skin especially since needles are involved. @Heidisspalife
@Heidisspalife 8 ай бұрын
I will do this in sessions spaced out 4-6 weeks. Right now my skin likes about 3 sessions. I will retouch it a year from the end of those sessions. In the beginning a did more sessions because very bad scarring. Most places will have you do up to 10 sessions. This is all depending on the skin. I hope this helps.

You do not have to bleed. If anything it is never wise to go that invasive the first time especially if you have darker skin. You can cause hyperpigmentation if you're sensitive to skin trauma. Pink in my opinion is good 👍.

With micro needling every 4-6 weeks. I like 6 weeks. This is to allow for healing. Nano needling is safe every 2-3 weeks. You do not have to do it the rest of your life. lol. It is typically done in a package. For micro needling it ranges up to 10 sessions to get the desired results. Nano you can do whenever you want a boost from a serum with added benefits. I usually touch up my skin once a year. I hope this helps.

I am not a bleeder to begin with even when I got my nose pierced years ago it didn't really bleed. Some people are probably just more vascular and will bleed easier. Also I am not new to micro needling so my skin was very much used to it. I have deeper scars on my cheeks so the 2.0 doesn't really bother me much. Everyone skin is different in the end. I hope this helps.

@Heidisspalife
@Heidisspalife Жыл бұрын
The numbers on the pen mean how deep your going. The higher the number the deeper you go. However with needle counts the higher number the less aggressive it is. I hope that makes sense.
@Sertilya
@Sertilya Жыл бұрын
@@Heidisspalife ok May I ask this for a full understanding… 12 needle cartridges or more aggressive than 36 needle cartridges?
@Heidisspalife
@Heidisspalife Жыл бұрын
@@Sertilya Yes, when you are dealing with scarring especially Acne scars a lower needle count will tend to be a little bit aggressive and may cause more point needle bleeds, but you may see better results when it comes to deeper scars. 12-needle carts are also very commonly used and generally safe. A higher needle count is finer and better for product absorption, fine lines, or even delicate skin-like stretch marks. People can do damage when they go too deep on the pen's settings, which in my opinion is not necessary, and should be done by a doctor if you're going past 2.5 mm. Where people also do damage is not holding the pen correctly, and not properly lubricating the skin. The reason for not going on a deeper setting with your pen is that you tend to lose control, and can further damage the skin if not done correctly. I hope this clarifies a bit more, but if I need to I will be happy to make another video. This is also based on the type of pen I use and their cartridges. They have user suggestions for all of their cartridges.
