I really like this company and this series of educational videos. In general, the frequency response, especially for speakers that do not provide the graph, is reported without the scale, so it is useless. Thank you for spreading honesty and clarity in the technical data!

Thanks for this really informational video! Especially the smoothing of the frequency response is something to keep in mind when comparing different mics. There is a lot of trickery going on with a lot of brands...

At Lewitt what level of smoothing (I assume some dB level/12th octave) is used on the frequency response graph? Since microphones like most things have tolerances, is the frequency response graph a single microphone or the average of a representative population? Is the response obtained in an anechoic chamber or diffuse field? Are any target compensation curves used? Why is this data not available to download for the MTP550DM? Thank you!

Hi and thanks for your interesting questions. We use 1/3rd octave smoothing for our published frequency response graphs. The graphs are the result of the mathematical average of a representative population. Our results come from free field (anechoic chamber) measurements There aren't any target compensation curves used. Strange, we'll look into the missing tech graph of the MTP 550 DM.
