Microscopy: Dark Field, Phase Contrast, Polarization and DIC (Edward Salmon)

This lecture describes various methods of generating contrast in biological specimens using transmitted light (ie. without staining or fluorescence). Principles of dark field, phase contrast, polarization and differential interference contrast (DIC) microscopy are described and examples of how these techniques are used for imaging are described.

The bacteria being chased was totally beyond reason! How can something that small have the "intelligence" to chase anything!

I’d definitely recommend checking out a book called “Vehicles” by Valentino Braitenberg. Or just look up “Braitenberg Vehicle” on KZfaq, there are a few really good explanations on there. Trust me, it’s relevant.

The information were great but this video could easily be 10 minutes shorter if he spoke a little faster and smoother. Again I really appreciate that he filmed this because it was really helpful for me and I don't mean to be rude or mean.
