Hi Mary, Yes you can, this same domain can be used for email and a website. You can choose namecheap as the web hosting service or any other that you desire. They all work very similar and you would just need a cname and @ of www to point it to the webhosting domain you get.

hi I bought ms 365 business basic trial in april and and 2 days ago i noticed than onedrive isn't signed in so i tried to buy the account but couldn't able to because now they want vat id which i don't have so i tried randon id from the internet which didn't work i stuck in the look i of filling in the billing and payment page over and over again. please help how can i buy the business basic without vat id they didn't asked for the vat id before why now. i had important data on the drive i treid everything contact support doesn't answering tired calling, twitter and reddit no help there is no response from anywhere. what is vat id anyway why it's important all of a sudden to buy an subscription if you know anything please help me

Hi lola, This sounds like it only happens in Europe, I have never run into that requirement here in the United States. I would put in a support ticket directly with Microsoft to see what they recommend. You can place a ticket at admin.microsoft.com, Support, Help & Support, type in the topic you need help with, and hit Contact support at the bottom.

Firstly, i want to say thank you, I did everything and it worked! Although I'm having one issue. All the menus are saying 'signing in with (the correct account and handle)' but then, once I've signed in, my profile says I' m on the '.onmicrosoft' handle still. How can I fix this?

All my mails bounce back “undeliverable”. Policy violation or system error at receiving email server. (It does work if i mail hotmail/gmail, it doesnt work if i send jnj or deloitte or …) Any suggestions?

I haven't ran into this particular issue. On the admin center, reach out to Ms365 support and they'll get you up and running in no time. They answer pretty fast, it might just be a simple policy change needed.

Have you checked the spam folder? Sometimes the first emails I have had to right click an email that was in spam and select not spam. If the email is not there, do you get a bounce back message? If so, what's the error?

Hey Jeremy, You would go to the admin center admin.microsoft.com, go to settings > Domains page, select add domain, and follow similar steps to the guide to verify you own this domain.

Will the email work for every user under my Microsoft365 account? Or just the admin account?

You can do both. For example, you can have an admin account just to administer all accounts without a paid license. You can also have an admin account with a license (for example your account). Every end user or mailbox a user has should have a paid subscription if you want them to have exchange. I made a video on shared mailboxes if you want a method to get free mailboxes, check that out.

Bro iam from uae and purchased the domain from Etisalat nic portal. But here i couldn't see the txt record option in the dns manager. Instead of that there is DNS Record, MX Record, Cname and SRV Record. So in which one i have to add the txt record? Pls waiting for your reply

Hey Corentin, not a problem. You only buy the domain once with a year or multi-year renewal (Don't ever let this expire). Once you link the domain to your Microsoft business/enterprise account you can either have as little as one user or upto 300 with a Business license. Once you reach 300, your license #301 would need to be an Enterprise license (E3 or E5). If you buy 1 business basic license, you will be able to use 1 business email address such as corentin@yourdomain.com If you want more users, you will have to pay for more business basic licenses. So if you require 5 users to have a business email with your domain you would need to pay for 5 Business Basic licenses. Let me know if that makes sense.

@@ManouuUO You can actually buy email directly from some of these domain companies, like namecheap will give you 5 mailboxes for $5.99 a month. They are also considered less secure and provide less features and storage, but it does work.

@@ManouuUO You would only pay the $10 for the domain once per year and then if you will be using MS365, you will need a subscription license with Microsoft for each mailbox. So if you have 5 users or mailboxes you need, you would need to buy 5 licenses of a Business Basic license or whichever you need.

I'm glad you were able to follow the video. You just need to purchase 1 to set everything up and get started. If you need to add more mailboxes, you will need to purchase additional subscriptions. It's about $13 a month per subscription. If you just need Exchange online for them without all the apps you can also combine adding a MS basics license. You then assign that license from admin.microsoft.com to that user.

So if you need 5 more mailboxes with all of them needing Business standard you would purchase 5 more subscriptions, then the licenses become available in your admin.microsoft.com, you then assign those licenses to the 5 users. If they only need business basic, you purchase those, once theyre available just assign them to those users.

Hello Jesse, Great content, When making custom domain for my company, do i have to pay additional fee for my empolyee emails under the same domain ? what are the prices, i cant seem to find them, please help ! do i have to pay additional for users ?

Yes you have to pay for a license for each user that needs an email. The cheapest way to get them an Exchange mailbox is the "Microsoft 365 Business Basic license." This does not include any apps but does include Exchange online 50gbs and 1TB of OneDrive. www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/business/microsoft-365-business-basic If any users need more than just Exchange and also need the Office apps, I recommend the Business Standard license. You can also mix and match licenses depending on what that user needs.

@@connorglazebrook1979 mark them as not spam and usually that helps their backend a.i. to stop detecting them as spam. From Ms365 admin center you can go to the exchange admin center and do a message trace on any emails and it will tell you where it is.

Hi Dear, thank you for your useful video. I applied the steps. it succeeded and I have the subscription I wanted. but the point is they sent me the invoices and they don't deduct the invoice amount from my credit card and I can't add a payment method as well. They do not accept the address. it is something complicated. I can see my credit card in the billing section and as I understand they asked to make EFT. Actually, I don't know if I could explain the case. I live in Turkey....how can you help in this respect!

Yes sometimes DNS does truly take a day to update. I would come back a few hours later and try again. They advertise it taking up to 48 hours.

Hi Ciprian, With a single subscription of the business license you unlock the admin portal where you can add as many domains as you want and you can create upto 400 aliases per user. Just keep in mind, domain purchasing is a separate cost per domain.

Yes, you would assign one user license and you can get unlimited shared mailboxes or you can do email distribution lists which can achieve the goal of multiple email addresses. (While only paying for one license)

Look, i have one user licence right now as i want 3 different email for my company in order for customers to cantact the right 'department in my organization". @@tk_1888 If only one person will be managing the emails I still recommend a shared mailbox.You would then give full delegation to your one user account, then you can send emails as that mailbox and it will have emails coming in separately to it's own mailbox. @@tk_1888 Once you have two people managing emails you would add another user license and you still keep the shared mailboxes and you add the new user as a full delegate. Both a shared mailboxes and a distribution list have the ability to send emails as that specific email address you set but I think for you the shared mailboxes would be smarter since it will have emails separate from your mailbox and multiple users can access the account once your departments grow.

The pricing of MS365 Business Standard is for 1 email, which runs you $12.50 per user per month. Once you setup this initial custom domain you can add additional users for another $12.50 and so on. With the trial, you are able to add up to 50 users or if you skip the trial, you can go up to 300 users with a Business Standard license. After 300, additional users need to get on an Enterprise license. Once that happens, you don't have to switch everyone to an Enterprise license, but from user #301 and on those will require the enterprise license. Let me know if that answers your question.

If you don't care about the apps you can do the Business Basic license which will cost you $5 per user per month. You would follow this exact same guide just buy those basic licenses instead.

Each user or subscription will equal one mailbox.

You could but it should work for any provider. You just have to update your DNS records as shown in the video. Sometimes it can take a few hours or days for changes to take effect.
