Hi Chrisy, GoDaddy shouldn't stop you accessing the admin centre, I plan to do an update on this vide as I know many people don't use GoDaddy for their hosting

@@Novalogix-ltd thanks, I think I figured it out. If ppl signed up Microsoft's plan (on deal) via godaddy, godaddy redirects the admin centre to their own portal (kinda blackmailing but) coz they don't want users to see the pricing plans offered by Microsoft directly. So, if ppl already have a MS plan, it's okay for them to get a domain from godaddy. It took me a while to understand this

@@chrisyleenz Ah that makes sense, a bit cheeky from GoDaddy, I did see they offer 365 accounts but I have always just used my own tenant! for sure a much better way than using GoDaddy's branded version if you want more control, thanks for clarifying! :)

HI Jeeka715 glad it was helpful, any account can have multiple alias so you can add those to a licensed user but it sounds like in your case you want a set group to recieve emails from generic accounts. Email forwarding does require that the user has a license, however, I would suggest taking a look at shared mailboxes for these accounts to save needing a license: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/email/create-a-shared-mailbox?view=o365-worldwide

Hi, you can sign up for the developer programme and use development accounts or alternatively you can sign up for a free E3 trial just be aware a Domain can only be assigned to one tenant and you will need to remove it before you add it to another. The great thing about domains is you can't mess the tenant up too much, each account always has a base domain which is the onmicrosoft.com and can be switched back and forward from each without losing data, I will make sure to get a video out to show you how!

Hi Marcos, this will just setup your custom domain to direct traffic to Office365 there still needs to be services in there to use it. Once setup you can create accounts with your own domain (Marcos@customdomain.com) then assign that user an Office365 license with whichever services you want to give them

Hi Ahmad, the DNS entries are just a pointer to tell the email where it should be sent to, on the other side of the DNS there will be either an email client like outlook storing the emails locally or there will be a server storing the emails and then a client like outlook will read them from the server, where these were originally stored will depend on your previous DNS Settings and mail provider so I recommend you check with them. Any previous emails will remain where they were previously stored so its a good idea to back these up first for migration, once the new DNS entries are added all emails for that domain are routed to Exhange Online where they are stored, you would then use an Email client like outlook to read them, server storage is the preferred method as you can install and uninstall outlook without losing the emails and they can be accessed from multiple devices

GoDaddy just has an auto configure but it can be completed manually with any domain provider that allows access to DNS records management. to make outlook work you will then need to assign users a domain or create users with the domain, as long as the mx records exist all mail to that domain will be routed to the 365 and will pickup the username, I have a video I will record that will explain in more detail how to manage users and domains, make sure to subscribe and I will notify when its out

Hi Chathura, unfortunately I havent tried this with Google Cloud DNS, be aware that not all the records are TXT Recods and make sure you match the types up correctly. The record you refer to is actually an SPF record which is designed to prevent spoofing and each domain should only have one, check out the below docs from Microsoft which may help: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/get-help-with-domains/create-dns-records-at-any-dns-hosting-provider?view=o365-worldwide Skip down to SPFT TXT record.

You can import bulk users from CSV or automate the process with Powershell or any API, see the below Microsoft page, the section at the bottom, I will try to do a little video for you: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/add-users/add-users?view=o365-worldwide

Sorry I am not familiar with Blogger but you will only be able to perform these steps if your domain host allows you access to amend the DNS Records.

Hi Max the tenant is the same regardless of the plan so the same instructions apply, within the tenant you can then assign licenses to each user these can be a variety of different types. I will put together a video that goes through the licensing application for you :)

@@Novalogix-ltd Thanks. The Microsoft's FAQ say that custom domains only works wiht domains hosted in Go Daddy.

The custom domains can be added from any domain provider as long as you have access to DNS with your provider, the auto setup is only available via GoDaddy

Hi skeptisk1 glad it helped! No unfortunately old mail will remain in your previous mail storage inbox but all new mail will route to the office365 mailbox once the DNS is registered. You will need to migrate any old email to outlook after that, unfortunately there is no easy answer to the question of how to do that.

@@Novalogix-ltd is there a way to set it up for all emails sent to the outlook mail to be forwarded to email addresses on the new domain. I don't my users to switch to outlook mail. Bare in mind the email address for the new domain is the same as the login for the user on office 365.
