In this video a Moog Sub 37, Sequential OB-6, and Yamaha MODX are all (re)tuned simultaneously by a Sonoclast Plastic Pitch Pro. The Plastic Pitch Pro is designed to be maximally configurable to tune any MIDI synth. In this case the Sub 37 is tuned using MIDI Tuning Standard (MTS) messages. The OB-6 is tuned using MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) messages. And the MODX is tuned using good old MIDI Pitch Bend messages. The left side of the MODX keyboard is mapped to the OB-6, and the right side is mapped to the MODX synth engine (via the Plastic Pitch Pro).
The performance begins in 12ET with a 1200 cent wide octave and then morphs to a 12 tone scale built around a Bohlen-Pierce tritave. Notes are tuned individually and all together before finally returning to the 1200 cent wide octave tuning.
