My name is Don Yacovella I'm a full time furniture maker. I mostly build mid century modern style furniture along with pieces inspired by George Nakashima. This chair has been a steady seller for me over the years I've lost count of how many I've made now.This video will show the build process beginning to end.Hope you enjoy

I love that your shop actually has sawdust in it - I feel like most KZfaqrs have an unrealistically clean shop.

Ha yes I always have ample sawdust. I don't know where other builders find the time to clean so well.

Very awesome video, i loved your bulding chair, i am wondering if you could give the tamplate so i can print it to trace it on the wood, it will be big help for me. Even if i should pay you money in return its okay for me, thank you bro

Thanks for watching my video! Sorry my computer skills are pretty weak I have no idea how to make digital plans. I build those chairs with my original plywood templates. I do old fashioned scale pencil drawings for everything else.I've had several requests for digital plans and one of these days I'll devote the time to figuring that out .Right now all my available brain power is devoted to learning about KZfaq.

It is obvious you have created this same chair a few times in the past given all your great jigs and watching your hands work. What would estimate is total amount of your time it took to create those two amazing chairs? And lastly what was the long blue handle press for? Thanks.

Hi Chris yeah I've lost count of how many at this point they've been a regular seller for me online.I always build two at a time even if only one of the two is sold.It takes me about three work days to build two and really only a few hours less to build one so it's just profitable to make two.The blue thing is an electric Kreg Machine " Pocket Hole Screws" Thanks for watching and reaching out!

The arm detail is top notch, definitely unique. I'd like to see how the form/function of it is.... any feedback on that, sir? SUBBED
@donyacovella1230
@donyacovella1230 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure exactly what you mean by the form/function but if you want to word that differently I’m happy to answer any questions about the chair.
@MrCuervo22779
@MrCuervo22779 5 ай бұрын
What i meant was the arm detail being an upward curve. Does that make the arm rest any more or less comfortable than a traditional flat arm rest? I love your design overall, probably the most unique one I've seen.

Is your chop saw super accurate on the 45° angle cuts or does that not matter if it is a 1 degree off ? It looks like you just set it ro what the dial says and go.

Wow! Your video popped up. found it fascinating in many ways. Very similar style of woodworking, but you have more expensive tool! And bigger shop space. LOL! Became a subscriber. I'm guessing no SketchUp? I'm always sad about what I cut off. Expensive firewood. Became a subscriber.
