I actually just purchased this game last week and it arrived yesterday. The size of the box was overwhelming and I knew that putting it back in the box was going to be quite the challenge. I was up until 5 in the morning today trying to figure out how to store it back in the box. With a little bit of cardboard, double-sided tape, a ruler and pencil, I achieved what I thought would be impossible. I was able to fit all the cards sleeved! The only thing I kept separate were the tokens and only because there are so many tokens included that I thought baggies would absolutely destroy setup and tear down for me. I ended up using a bead craft organizer for the tokens. Easy reach and makes the game much easier to play. Funny thing is, I used household items along with the included cardboard box from shipping to create the insert. Makes me wonder, why couldn’t the publisher just include a similar insert? It really wasn’t hard to do so that baffles me a bit. Other than that, now all I have to do is read the rulebook and I’ll be ready to go!!

Middara is the first Kickstarter game that I backed, and will be the first one that I receive. And though I've backed several more games over the past 2 years, I expect Middara to be one of my favorite games.

Something I did with my board tiles is use a black sharpie to colour the cardboard edges black. They just look that much better when laid out on the table.

I've got Middara, Etherfields, Tainted Grail, Gloomhaven, Middara, 7th Continent, Bloodborne and Solomon Kane. All excellent games. Middara definitely top 3 for me.

This is one that really tests my self-control. I am telling myself that I will hold on until I can finish some of the current campaigns I have going on, buuuuut...

I was interested to learn the price. Games that are half the price have 1/4th to 1/3rd the content, so even though it is expensive it is still an amazing price for content amount! I hope that this sets a future standard for quality and amount of components.

I've played through 3/5 of middara on tts so far, finally got my act 1 box but i don't think I actually have the table space to play it, lol. I'm curious to see if the game holds up through act 2 and 3 but im enjoying it so far

I've passed on this for the same reasons I did KDM: 1) theme/art didnt draw me in, and 2) it's almost TOO expansive. Give me something half the size and price, and I may be glad to try it out!

Laugh out loud😃, adventure tactics went on my shelf as my back games. I am almost done with tainted grail 1st campaign, and 1/3rd through gloomhaven (put it aside for now) I’m still playing marvel United (cause it’s fast game and easy set up) About to start chronicles of Drunagor.

I didn't go in on Middara or Chronicles of Drunagor. Please don't mind me while I live vicariously through your vids.

As you know, one of my top 3 games of all time. 10/10 for me. Bounty packs are special hunts that you can go on at certain intervals in the story. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

1st edition Descent was tilted in the Overlords favor, 2nd edition was in the favor of the Heroes, I heard people say that it evened out if you added the lieutenants, never tried that or the digital overlord. We'll see how 3rd edition comes out.

Recently a friend of mine made me think of the #of backers on games. After seeing the complete lack of supply of chronicles of Drunagor based on the number of backers. It makes me think that games with less then 6k backers, if successful may have higher resell values? Thoughts?

And I thought Gloomhaven was big...

This is one of those game that I wish were a video game instead. From what I've read, it has a very JRPG video game style story. And the combat system reminds me of the same. It looks more interesting that Gloomhaven to me, but it's just another campaign game that I don't have room for.

The Kickstarter I‘m really bummed I missed… it will be so expensive to get that Game and extra content later….

I guess midarra is not a flip game only a playable game since they are selling it on their web page. Of course that means they can run out and still have a higher value in the future. This happened to chip theory games and black list games. When you say the prices have changed in the market I completely agree. I am looking at campaigns coming now and seeing what I backed and didn’t back and was hesitant on the price of 100-200 back then. Now I go into games at 300-500. I spent 700 on the x-men united since I bought multiple all ins.

I had the similar thoughts when looking at the kickstarter and decided to pass. Usually when I pass on a kickstarter, I do so because I just don't think it is a game the fits me and over time I am pleased that I passed. In this case, I kept getting drawn back into it and wishing that I had at least gone with the base act 1 pledge. So I decided to order it from their store. The cost is up from the pledge level, but from your unboxing, I can't say that it looks overpriced even now.

I just recently bought this game but got a bit intimidated by all the content. I most likely will buy an insert first and then start playing it.

As someone who owns the game its very fun. However its not balanced at all. You become so strong that you can destroy the mission before most enemies even get to activate. We made a house rule to actually shuffle the turn order each round so that if the enemies got last in queue they might have a chance to attack. The story is insanely big. Depending on the group people might not want to read pages upon pages between the missions. What we do is have a player read the story while others setup the next mission. This game is the best dungeon crawler hands down bang for buck. Its miles beyond Gloomhaven. You have way less time wastes setting up cause its all tiles. Just attached the ones shown and bam lets go! GH suffers from the worst setup. Jaws of the lion did better with the book method. One great thing is how you have so much flexibilty with your heroes. Wanna duel wield with summons and have offensive spells then go for it. Wanna make someone that can wield massive 2H weapons and have healing spells with martial arts skills and a splash of blood magic? Go for it. Your imagination is the only limit to your setups. Do me a favor and buy it if you need a time sink during this plandemic. GH has nothing on the gamplay Middara offers. Pumped for acts 2&3

I feel like I should be totally into this, but something seems off. Maybe theme or something. I'm more interested in Stormsunder (or the coveted KDM). Darker? It's like how I was obsessed with PUBG but avoided Fortnite.

If I buy it on retail as now available, is this what I would get...? Or are there KS exclusives in this video? I thought the KS had a separate box, a box with minis. Not being a huge mini fan, does that have any gameplay content...? Or I would be fine with retail box?

I love it when a game dev/publisher demonstrates that they really don't give two shits about the user experience. 1200 cards, no fucking way to store any of them. At $160. For $160, Roll Player Adventures has a flawless storage solution that fits the entire game plus expansion in the box, sorted, so you can pull it out and *immediately* start playing. It is batshit to demand that users pay *an additional* $50, $100, $150, or even more, PLUS spend enormous amounts of time assembling and testing all kinds of boxes, bags, etc. to actually store the game they've bought. It is *plain* that Succubus's purpose here is to try to ensure that anyone who bought the original is going to go all-in for the promise of maybe eventually getting some sort of storage solution. Middara is the only game I've bought in YEARS that I fully regretted spending anything on. What an absolute waste.

Wow those minis are so impressive. The only issue I had with chronicles of Drunagor is their minis aren’t that great. I LOVE THE CUTE LITTLE HALFLING ON THE WOLF. but most characters kind of suck. Cough cough vampire cough cough.

I didn't receive this yet hopefully it will come soon. I went all in like a crazy man. They are also offering more new Resin kits for characters soon on the pledge manager.

Interested to hear once you play it, the content is epic, but I struggled a little with the fiddliness of gameplay I've seen so far and the narration is a bit cringy. I kinda want to love it but, hmmm....

The only thing I'm not happy about with this game are the miniatures. The plastic is too soft and not really that detailed.
