Café Colony in Dadar East, Mumbai is one of the few surviving Irani cafes in the city. The Guide Restaurant Awards 2019, mid-day’s annual recognition for Mumbai’s standout food and drink talent, honours some of the city’s last surviving Irani cafés for enduring culinary contribution by a diaspora community. Unique to Mumbai, they fight inflation and competition from fast food. The Irani’s, as the cafes are lovingly called offer no-nonsense service, food unique to the Iranian Zorastrian/Iranian Muslim community with a charm that’s redolent of old-world Bombay. Thank You Mid Day for this clip. Brings back very very fond childhood memories. Of Circular Marble Topped tables and fanshaped backrests black wooden chairs to park your pfenny, i enjoyed my Brun Maska, Omelette Pav, Nankatai Biscuits and Mutton Kheema. Ohhhhhhhhh, what a feeling Divine. Those were the days when Mumbai was called Bombay. Do You Get Me, Steeve? as AFS TALYERKHAN would have asked in his Sports Column, featured daily on the Sports page of the Times Of India.

Visited this place few weeks ago, not at all well maintained sadly. Staff is creepy and the cafe has a, unmaintained atmosphere. They have the best location in Matunga but they have not done anything to maintain the standard with time.
