1 Sincere thanks to a good friend who made these videos around the lower North Island and upper South Island at the beginning of the 21st century.
He wishes to remain anonymous but has made them available to me for editing and upload to KZfaq. He began taking New Zealand rail videos with a small point and shoot camera which in those days of unknown frame rate capture which I believe is part of the reason for the somewhat jerky motion.
Nevertheless, the photography is awesome and these few videos are a good record around and during the so called "The Twins" era when the original pair 1199 and 1200......
Also some rare Dq and Eo action to come...
I have taken out hundreds of still camera shutter clicks and other extraneous noises. Although it's impossible to remove distorted wind noise which is still a major problem in many video recordings, I have in many clips either lower the clip sound level and/or blended in newer cleaner sounds from my own archives. It is not perfect but I hope you find it a more pleasant watching and listening experience.
Special thanks to Hayden Clements and Matt Hartley for lending their eyes and helping me sort out double clips etc. If viewers notice any obvious errors please advise me via my email in the end credits
