“All the wars have led us to the abyss. It’s time to try peace again.”
Thousands of people attended an event on Monday evening at the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv and called for an end to the war on Gaza and a hostage deal.
The event, dubbed The Time Has Come, featured prominent Palestinian citizens of Israel and Israelis giving performances and speeches, attempting to reignite hope for a peaceful political solution between Israelis and Palestinians after the declining peace movement in Israel had come under further pressure since 7 October.

That really doesn't matter. The only way for South Africas to get out of Apartheid was to eventually come to some sort of agreement with whites. It doesn't mean all those whites were deserving of it. It was just the only reasonable option. The only way forward for Palestinian liberation is a true and lasting peace. That should also come with self determination, the right of return, and significant reparations, but it still has to come with peace. War will only bring death.

There's no hope in the IDF achieving victory in Gaza. I think that the IDF will fully withdraw before October this year.

War is very traumatic and can affect people for decades after the war ends. I know because I was in a group that dealt with people from Finland, who were victims of the 2nd world war. And although I met them over 30 years after the end of the war, their childhood experiences still affected them, which resulted in alcoholism, PTSD / PTSS, imagine going on holiday and sharing a house with a highly educated respectable, professional, who screams and panics during the night, and wakes up everyone, and then the following day, they feel so ashamed of disturbing everyone else that, they start drinking and hurt themselves.

@MrGoldhandles long story short, even if the IDF employs all its might to defeat Hamas, they won't be able to because their bombs, tanks, artillery and jets just can't help them because Hamas is burrowed under ground. Israel had tried to flood the tunnels where they have found them before but failed because the tunnels were built even to frustrate that. IDF's failure to defeat Hamas is not so much that they used minimum fire power to avoid killing many innocent civilians but because they are fighting against an enemy that they cannot see and all the heavy military equipments has been rendered useless in this scenario.

Doesn't matter what name was that before and how the name of the country changed by centuries, people always lived there. U can just remove their identity just like that by bringing settlers over and over.

sure, it is not enough. sure, there is guilt within Israeli society, particularly within the more recent settlements. but let us start *somewhere* in the push for an inevitably imperfect peace. Israelis have never benefitted from the mistreatment of Palestinians. Time to show Israelis who want it, that they do have a free and coexisting option open to them for the future. I think they can come to see that their Palestinian cousins don't just hate them belligerently. I think Jews and Muslim Arabs can live alongside each other one day. Maybe it is a long day from now. Maybe not. But I don't think anything short of coexistence is just.
