Middleton Railway: 200 Years of Steam 230612

A first visit to the Middleton Railway to film an Event which celebrated 200 years of steam at the Middleton Railway. In helping GB Productions with the official DVD of the event, I was able to obtain privileged access to the line and another footplate ride. Many thanks to the railway for the welcome they offered and their friendliness. Congratulations for organising an event which ran so smoothly andf punctually.
Locomotives on view: Steam Elephant from Beamish, Furness Railway No.20, Bagnall 2842, Slough Estates No 3, Y7 NER 1310, Manning Wardle locos Matthew Murray and Sir Berkeley.

You're becoming the master of the footplate rides. Little 1310 making a valiant effort there towards the end. I thought the gentleman appearing from the bushes was going to offer to push.

Thanks for your kind offer, which I had not forgotten. Not sure at the moment when I will be visiting the SVR, but Ill let you know when I plan to. I would have gone at the weekend, but hearing that there were only 4 smokebox first shots per day during the previous weekend put me off.

Happily we were up to 5 working locos on the weekend just gone after magnificent work by MPD. I should have a turn or two at the September Gala. When I know I shall get in touch.

Thanks. The wet rails did not help 1310 which slipped for most of the section. I had to cut the clip short to ensure we all stayed awake.

Another lovely video. I can't offer a footplate ride but my offer once made to you for time in an SVR signal box (at a gala if you like) still stands - PM me if you'd like to take it up, anytime.
