Hi Mrcuss, great explanation, one thing though. while mapping the eq and faders make sure in the midi mapping browser the db max settings is set to 0 db for all the parameters. This will result in a much cleaner and not distorted sound.

Hi +mrcuss is there anyway to get the rotary encoders to be more responsive. As I saw you doing in the video, you have to spin them multiple times to get a full turn of a control from 1-127. Maybe a Max4Live device or something?? Right now the rotarys are pretty useless where you have to wind them up to get enough movement. Setting them to Relative Bin Offset is the opposite problem with them being too sensitive. Any ideas?

Nice video there, to add bit more flex in your mapping i would suggest to use the Play button that is just above the "Audio From" label on each channel.

Hi Marcus, thank you for the video, it helped a lot to set up, but I am not able to use the cue button. I have followed the video as you showed. I’m trying to mix two tracks together, but when I’m pressing the cue, it is just turns off and on the headphone. In the program when I’m trying to set the first beat, I could not pause the track,and set the cue point for the first beat. Thank you for your answer, it is appreciated a lot! :)

Great tutorial! However I am having a problem, when I map the fader level it only fading up and down inside the headphones but not bringing the sound up on my speaker. How do I achieve this? Thanks 🙂

You can map what you like once you know how to map the the basics. Personalise and create a map that suits your way of DJing.

is it possible to use the upper section for abelton effects like reverb and stuff, and the lower section (the buttons u mapped cue and play) to traktor? or isnt this possible? and do you always need to have a connection to the laptop?

THERES A HUGE ERROR HERE. YOU NEED TO MAP THE 'PLAY' FUNCTION TO THE BLACK ARROW AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TRACK, NOT TO THE TOP CLIP. OTHERWISE YOU'LL CONSTANTLY ONLY PLAY THAT CLIP AND CANT SCROLL.

the only thing i dont get, is how to hear the metronome now, while playing a track? i mean, for warping you need that function. but than cue and master out, both have to be at 3/4. please advice.

I don't have one of these, simply looking into it trying to learn the ways of MIDI Mapping and using Ableton Live (Using a DJ Controller + Serato at the moment). Just wondering though, rather than utilising all of the top controls for your EQ, is there a possibility in which you could use the endless controls at the bottom of the K2 to move left and right to select each "deck" ? I tend to create sets like playlists for driving or for the gym, so I'm not entirely bothered about mixing on the fly as such at the moment.

What system have you got? PC / Mac and is the K2 just connected via USB

In the midi ports the input is not showing up and there for I cannot go any futher than this do you have any advice as the k2 and its drivers are installed correctly... Thanks, Matt

Could you please explain a little more behind the cueing function? Can you have 4 tracks running and be able to cue on each of them or does one track need to be dedicated only to the cue function??

found it i think: "audio from" has to be set to master as well, per track. :)

HI, Your tutorial was really helpful to me. I have a problemn though, once a configure the power on setup to scroll between clips, I don't know how to launch the different clips, 'cause you show how to launch the 1st one, so I can't figure out how to do it without using all my buttons. those starting parameters for the knobs are set to -12 db for the 12 o clock position. how do you fix this. you didnt fix in the video.

Dont see why not... Just map the controls in your chosen software to the controls of the controller. The only thing you would struggle to map is a cross fader if you use one...
