Midjourney 6 Describe Review | Image to Image Solved?

Midjourney has released the describe function for Version 6. You can upload any image and Midjourney will create four detailed prompts to create images very close to your original image. This is a feature that we will use later in our consistent character series.
We are going to push Midjourney’s describe prompt as far as possible. First, we will test if simply copying the text of a prompt from Ideogram to Midjourney works. Can we bypass the whole describe function? Or does Midjourney Version 6 read prompts in a unique manner? Then we will use describe to try and recreate four distinct Ideogram images using Midjourney.
We will then repeat this test using four images from Leonardo. They have a very powerful engine and a unique style.
Along the way we will text if Midjourney can accurately read text in images now.
We are trying to answer one question: Does the describe ability mean we no longer need to pay for subscriptions to other image generators?

thanks for the testing!! Really interesting though! Speaking for myself I never had the intention to get absolute 100% accuracy from J when describing something, I always saw and see it more like inspiration :D It will get better for sure, maybe in V7, who knows, but I never expect any ai features to be perfect :D

The only way to find out is experimentation. They just dropped a new update a few hours ago, so I'm testing for tomorrow's video.

I had an image reference of a thirty year old woman or so and after a few variations she was well under the age of puberty. I can't seem to make any female adult character, because the system always modifies my image reference and my character gets de-aged to well under the age of ten. They have to address this., it's messed up.

I love Midjourney but I think they've really fallen down on the text thing. Ideogram does it so well. As for describe, I'll definitely add that to my Midjourney toolbox. Thanks for the comprehensive comparison! And you said "bum". 😄

Yes I use Ideogram for my logos the most. It's definitely still winning there, but that might change when v6 leaves alpha.

Awesome! Bro I literally was going cray yesterday trying to add my beloved /describe into an MJ highlight video I was making for a ‘brand creation w MidJourney’ tutorial I was making for a presentation I’m giving at our building in Pasadena tomm and was touching on the describe feature and kept getting kick out errors and finally figured it must because -v 6 which I have on my default wasn’t working w it yet. Thank U for this!!

I'm glad you liked it. I have to check the Midjourney discord group every day just to see if there is a secret update. They have a new character reference prompt coming out any day now that I can't wait to test. It's holding back my release of some character consistency videos because I think it will totally change that process.

@@ServeNoMaster1 omg Consostant Characters will be HUGE!! About as big as SREF to me (so key in vonsostanr brand creation etc for clients)
