I almost never use the default version, by which I mean I’ll include some influence, often a person (photographer/artist), or, at a minimum, a style. I’m curious if others do likewise.

@@stephon972 I'm a tech lover and have been a media creator most of my life (I'm 73) so I'm compelled to try new stuff. I still create little videos in Unity and have used MJ for making textures and photos to stick on walls in-game. I created thousands of MJ images that were fantastic but my friends really aren't into it and just putting them into a folder seemed silly when you can just generate 1000 of them any time. I still struggle with the 'worth' of the images but it has become a practical tool now and I can find textures elsewhere. I'm a ChatGPT subscriber now and with Dall-E3 it makes more sense to use that (even though it doesn't tile well). Way too much info here so I'll stop. Thanks for asking!

I don't comment but Ive seen a couple recent videos that are helpful. Your comarison in the videoo is something I dont see people do. Im not a huge fan of face ai speaking, but speeding at x2 is much enjoyable..

I noticed figures and cars are much closer up. Taking up most of the frame.

Yes, I noticed that too. It may just require some additional specifying. They did say that prompting will be different in v6 and it's much more literal than earlier versions. So obviously when I prompted a smile, it makes sense that it zoomed in on the smile. Not sure why it did that for some of the cars though.

@@thaeyne yes whatever the focus is seems much closer to the viewer and takes up way more of the frame. Hence the need to pan left and right! Hope they get onto it soon. Thanks

Does V.6 have panning left and right? When I upscale it no longer gives me the options. It has new options like upscale strong and upscale subtle, but no option to expand left or right.

No it doesn't yet. They mentioned in the patch notes that it's missing at this point, but it may be added to it soon.

Just had a first quick play with V6 alpha. Backgrounds etc, hugely detailed. Photorealistic. impressive! Faces, worse than V5.2. Not as pretty when asked for pretty, not as consistent either. Not as good at emulating a named person's face.

Sadly the golden days of Midjourney 5.1 and 5.2 are over. We've had six months of amazing graphic art production, like your series of 100 artists. Now with 6.0, seems the focus is on (duh, boring) photo-realism. MJ can now generate convincing centaurs and mermaids. Great. Yahoo! It was a lot more exciting when MJ generated UNREALISTIC images us humans could not have drawn...
