This final episode takes us further around the island to our first night's accommodation at The Wight Mouse Inn but not before we'd ridden a part of the Isle Of Wight Road race circuit (previously known as the Dimond Races circuit). This was scheduled to take place this year and be the first professional road race ever held on the Isle of Wight following a 12.4 mile circuit. Sadly, politics got in the way and it has been pushed back to 2023.
The glorious weather we'd experienced on the whole tour so far came to an end on the final day. The cloud came over and all the forecasts predicted torrential rain on our last day. Happily it didn't actually materialise but instead, I somehow picked up an extremely virulent stomach bug or virus which forced us to plan a route within easy access to toilets! As if that wasn't bad enough, I couldn't enjoy any food or Beer O'Clock!
We had planned to ride down to the Needles viewpoint but a 15 minute walk off the bike with a dodgy stomach was deemed too high risk. So we passed o that and planned a route to visit Carisbrooke Castle and on the way dropped in on the local Triumph dealership - "Dave Death Motorcycles" - a name we couldn't resist checking out! After the castle and still avoiding the forecasted torrential rain, we called in at the Wight Military and heritage Museum (mainly becauseI knew they would have a toilet!) before our final stop at The Fishbourne Inn and a rather muted evening. The next morning after a very short ride to the ferry, it was really nice to bump into a couple who follow our channel Graham and Sam two up on a Tiger 850 Sport!

Isle of Wight is attached in my memories to the famous festival that took place at the end of 60's/beginning of 70's: Ten Years After, Jefferson Airplane, Joan Baez, The Who, Emerson Lake & Palmer...and the list goes on! Glorious youthful times!

Repeating myself here again, really brilliant and well edited vlog once again, thoroughly enjoyable. Late with the viewing as we have been cruising the Norwegian Fjords all the way up through the arctic circle to Honningsvag the northernmost city in Europe, maybe Norway could be good for you both? Plenty bikers and empty roads, outstanding scenery and not that cold to be honest in fact we witnessed 24 degrees C in Trondheim. Ride safe.

Dear Brian and Sue, finally got to watch this latest installment. Nothing like a kidney stone and a trip to the emergency room to alter plans. The video, like all your videos, is another gem. Really appreciate your efforts. By the way, the stone did come out after drinking an appropriate amount of beer ! Greetings from Berlin, Jim P.s. Sad about the passing of the Queen. When you were filming round the room on your last night I noticed in the bathroom on the cistern were 3 rolls of toilet paper and in my head I thought 'I hope that's not a refection on the quality of the food' ! I nearly fell off my seat when the next day after the 'Fish & DRIPS' you were needing all 3 !!! Cheers from Thailand - Neil

I am an architect who specialises in the design and construction of tall building . Thanks for another great tour. We like the same kind of touring, using Inns and motels rather than camping. We just returned from a 3400-mile circle tour of Lake Superior in the US and Canada, albeit on one bike. The Mrs has, in her words “zero interest in driving my own bike-too busy sightseeing and gawking.” Thanks again and we’re looking forward to the next series. More, please.

Bought my first bike, all those years ago, from Dave Deaths... Don’t expect the diamond race anytime soon, the locals are still upset from the National Autograss finals being held here in 1991, when local, Dave Dutch won the class 4 finals... The garage next to the Wight Mouse pub, was owned and run by another autograss racer and well respected local petrol head. Sadly most forms of motorsports are or have died out here, which is truly sad as the island has lost so many tourists... The rock festival was reintroduced, at Newport, it’s become massive now, if you come for that, it’s brilliant but...expensive as heck... Don’t expect a lot from Sandown, except it’s gorgeous beach, the town is slowly closing, sadly it’s become a shell of its former glory days. Ventnor, strangely, for us locals, has become more pleasing, and some great roads there too and a bike shop, Churchstreet motorcycles. West Wight has some wicked roads to ride and not just the main roads. Don’t count on the Cowes to East Cowes chain ferry to be in service, it’s normally not operating due to a myriad of issues... East Cowes has Osbourne house, Queen Victoria’s island home, a great place to visit. There’s a car ferry from East Cowes to Southampton which is normally a cheaper route.

Bad luck getting poorly on this trip, it can take the edge of the enjoyment when you are focusing on where the next loo is! I had read about the Isle of Wight TT a few years back and wondered what had happened, hopefully be a great event when it happens. Deaths door quip reminded me of hospital radio's Ivan Brackenbury (Think that's his character name) quote. "If you are at deaths door, don't worry I'll pull you through!" As for Sue eyeing up a new Triumph, I just thought, easy Tiger. Carisbrooke Castle looked a fascinating place. Yet another great travel vlog from you both, very enjoyable. This time next week I'll be up in Scotland riding in the Scottish National Road Rally with about 70 others trying to secure a finish, a team award and a three nations award. Have you ever considered riding one of the National Road Rallies? With your flair for video making I think it would make for a entertaining video and a challenging project. @@midlifemotorcyclediaries The beauty of the National Rallies is that you can ride at a gentle pootle (Ha Google says that pootle is not a word, obviously it has never rode a motorcycle!) and the minimum is 120 miles in 13 hours. There is a couple who ride 1960's Lambretta scooters who regularly do the 540 miles, don't ask me how. I always ride alone as very few will have chosen your personal route and so can stop wherever you feel like. Take care.

Sadly, these days my back problem dictates how long and how many miles we are in the saddle ☹️ I remember back in 2010 on the Pan American highway regularly doing 6hrs + without stopping - not anymore! 😀👍

Our little group has been down there for the last 3 years in the hope of seeing the racing but every year its postponed until the following year. The general opinion of the locals we have talked to say they doubt it will ever happen. having said this we have already booked for 2023 as such a nice place to visit anyway. Enjoyed the content of your visit.

@@icemodica7118 the “active map” that shows the route we have taken is really simple - can’t take any credit! It’s an app called Relive that you download to your phone and it automatically tracks your route - when you’ve finished you just save it to your phone/laptop! 😀👍

We did a very similar tour in April this year, the last on our Tiger 800, before upgrading to the new 1200 GT Pro (inspired by Sue on her 900). Thought Ep3 was particularly good and one of your best. Keep them coming

Love the Police Camera van actually committing an offence to record offences!!!...... Its amazing what the IOW has to offer.

Thank you! I probably wouldn’t do the Dalton again but mainly because of my bad back☹️ If it wasn’t for that I think I’d quite like to do it and enjoy the journey more with more knowledge and experience! 👍😀

Hi Nigel, I’m 5’6” so Bri is actually 3” taller but I have long legs and a short torso so find it easier to get my feet well planted 😊👍

Should have had a curry on the last night - kill or cure!!! 😁 I wouldn't hold your breath about road racing being held there. Political hot potato with the inevitable road deaths and life changing injuries. Not sure if the locals would appreciate hoards of bikers disturbing their exclusive tranquility, and they don't really need the money!
