She might be known to the modern crows due to her fantastic acting projects, but she was also one of the very few "proper" singers who were full-time movie actors back in the day too! Uhm Junghwa was one of the first ones in the modern era to "double-time" but she was mostly referred to "talent", a.k.a. drama actor. They were more popular with the youth but were considered "inferior" to movie actors. Lee Junghyun went straight to movies, and was actually one of the few people that managed the transition between acting and singing, when every one else does it the other way

she reminds me a lot of bjork, grimes and lexie liu. such a cool visionary. anything having to do with outer space and tech is so visually appealing to me.

everything about her and her legacy really shows how much she really saw music and performance as one in the same as legitimate art forms and it’s always a treat because a lot of artists don’t really tap into that side of music apart from a select few (bjork, gaga, lexie liu, kelela, etc.)

Lee Jung Hyun was ahead of her time, we need someone now to do what she dared do back then. We need someone brave in kpop industry.

This is what got me into k pop back in 2000. I’m half Korean and my mom used to rent VHS tapes from the Korean store. Music bank was the show I first seen her on. Those first three albums of hers still slap!

i came across her music during high school and ended up becoming a big fan of her. Her music is just one of those types that you become addicted to. Its just so unique and creative, so rare to find these days. her music is such an inspiration to me and i thank LJH for her music cuz i don't think i could've gone through high school without it LOL. I hope that the newer generation of kpop can use her music as an influence and bring something new to kpop :)

I've been exploring a lot of 1st gen kpop lately, and I'm so fascinated by her and career, she was way ahead of her time. I would love to see a video on Roller Coaster, this k-acide rock group that existed around the same time. I stumbled onto their music and they're amazing.

Yeah, her look in her early career (no makeup) were the girls that intimated me when I was younger. Feels like Chakra did some of the same themes and amusingly Orange Caramel.

10:10 that's a very creative way to make a love song. Kind of sad how she went down slowly despite putting in more effort. I like that she didn't give up. I like people like her who go all out . Reminds me of Idle

I watched the whole video thinking this was just some cool Korean singer I had never heard of, but I was so surprised when V popped up! I was obsessed with that song when it came out! So cool to hear the entire legacy of the woman who created it, thank you 😊

WOW!!!! A LOT OF RESEARCH!!! Well done! But, WHY didn't mention Sammi Cheng??? Sammi Cheng did the same songs, and there;s some discrepancies over whom did which songs first. Sammi might've done 1 of the songs BEFORE 1999, but the song writers look like a Koren name. But, Sammi did OTHER songs which seem to have been done AFTER Lee's. ALso, Sammi's are written in Chinese Chengyu style from Classical Chinese (Wen Yan Wen). When I lived in China, I ONLY knew of the Sammi Cheng versions, and she did ALL of them in a Cantonese version, AND in a Mandarin Version, but in different years.

I recently developed a liking towards her. She is the literal definition of "too ahead of her time" as her content could still pass and prob succeed well if released now. Her songs are very well executed and the cocepts are things that should be talked about in kpop alot more! i really love what she used to do and i WISH to see it more in modern kpop
