I’m currently working on a story with a magic system based around temperature. One group of people heats things up while the other cools things down. The shadow magic idea sounds cool, so I’m probably going to write down some ideas for that in case I use it in the future.

Been creating ideas for my Idola power system. I try to incoporate both sci-fi and fantasy in my writing, but where the fantasy part is like a fairytale history, but science fiction is more leaned on far into the future and that technology is far more used. What I thought about the power system is that an Idola is a cosmical humanoid being, but they require a wielder so they are able to draw out their full extent. I also have plans to incoporate combinations of said Idola power system with the sci-fi stuff where one can combine the idola power with the technology, as well incoporate how the main character can also use it in their daily life. The world is also set in an original place and I have bunch of inspirations from different light novels (Magical index, scientific railgun, full metal panic) and video games (Phantasy star, Idola Phantasy star saga) Making something original while taking some inspirations is fun, but I don’t want to make some direct copy, I wanna put my own spin to make something completely original. But after watching this video, I think now I have some solid foundations to work on with the idola power system. Thanks for the useful tips as always! 😄👍

Just something to keep in mind, your power system doesn't need to be anything super complex that is a driving force for the story. One Piece comes to mind as it's power system is rather simple, that being a fruit that once eaten gives you abilities in exchange of losing the ability to swim, yet where one piece truly shines is with it's characters, writing, and worldbuilding. Just know that you don't need to come up with a power system on the same level as jojo's bizzare adventure or avatar the last airbender, as long as you have other factors to the story that make it good. I'm working on a story with an extremely bare bones power system, yet I plan to write some absolute banger worldbuilding, mature themes, and berserk-level character development.

So I have this idea and while it has problems in fleshing out here's my initial concept. This is a magic system for my magical girl series. Artisan Paletta or Canvas Hexer Palette (I'm not sure which title sounds catching), where these magical girls and boys too have the power of creativity at their disposle. It's called Medium...I don't know what name I should give the magic system but okay. First off, the title of the series is Artsy Artisan Palette. In this series it stars three girls trying to get into the art/entertainment industry in Japanese College. The main protagonist accidentally finds an art brush after they tried saving a dog from almost getting caught in a car crash. Suddenly her head explodes literally and then out of nowhere last night she has a strange blot creature. So without that out of the way let's explain Medium. The main magic tool to use is paint brushes or other art tools. In order to use it they must have their Blot to give magic. However they can only use their magic because in their normal selves the magic slowly depletes. In order to get into full power and get creative, the Artisan uses their magical tool to call their Blot and their Blot takes over their body as the Artisan is in the backseat. Their magical girl/boy is their persona that both the Artisan and Blot use to teamup. The Blot uses the magic but the Artisan can only watch and basically functions as the magical persona's intelligence and motor movements. So to explain, the Magical Transformation is temporary and it can only last. It turns out there's a mark on each magical Artisan that is akin to a hourglass. If it completly fades gray, the transformation is up and both Artisan and Blot resume their original selves. Or maybe a minute not sure. Another thing is that some Artisans have one trait that makes them stand out. I had some of the Fundamentals of Art used as powers. The main character and her Blot partner when they fuse together have the ability of color manipulation. Another has the ability of object creations like Momo from MHA and Mai from JJK. Or another uses linework to strike. Another one can even manipulate positive and negative space, a concept in art. These traits are based on the person's inner personality. Let's talk about the Blot. They serve as the equivalent of the Artisan in general or their creative mind. The Blot is actually the representation of the Artisan's best and worst monents and the opposite. Essentially the Blot is THE self of the Artisan. They are akin to a V Tuber. They are the persona, but the Artisan needs to control them like how people need to control their entertainment persoma and their real self. Also Blots can get tired so they need to recharge their magic in order to use it again. There's other ideas I have but essentially the Artisan's Medium are based on creativity. It's not how strong they are it's based on their amount of skill, talent and creativity. Though because of limitations I hope they aren't too OP. So thoughts on the system any critiques?

I respect you so much with the videos you’ve given cuz they helped alot when it comes world building, especially this video. I’ve kinda established my power system but I wanna know your opinion on it. The world of Gradient is basically what you get if you mix the hero society elements from my hero academia and the supernatural and over the top elements from superhero comics. The power system is based on the colors of the rainbow, they’re called Souls and they are 7 types of Souls which are split into two categories. Light Aura and Dark Aura, each have their own strengths and weaknesses. There’s also 3 more Souls, but these are different as they’re not technically colors but rather shades. Those with the Grey Soul only have powers that are generally not good for combat. White Soul and Black Soul are basically two sides of the same coin. Two of the most powerful Souls which are exclusive to godly beings called Divinus. However, one can attain either of them with different drawbacks. White can only last for 30 minutes, Black basically controls the user using them as a host. Edit: Forgot to mention this. The 7 Souls have 3 stages. Basically these powers can be expanded and evolved.

Can you do a video on making racing stories? I've been watching a lot of racing movies and shows lately and been wanting to make racing stories of my own. The thing is I'm not even a car guy, I'm just a guy who enjoys watching racing movies 😅.
