great vid, there's conflicting fitment information on alot of the sites that sell these, I wasnt sure which model I needed for my 2009 KTM 450 EXC but you have made it clear my bike takes the B2C just like the one you are installing, thanks for sharing your info

Thanks for the video! The MME instructions didn't say anything about removing the stock plastic piston rod so I thought I had received the wrong lever until I watched this.

Thanks. I initially did the same thing after watching someone else’s incorrect instructions on KZfaq. Hence why I made my video after working it out.

you have to use the stock piston rod and not the one it comes with on KTM. I found that I had problems with the non OEM rod.

How do you adjust the engage point?
@FuggyFilms
@FuggyFilms Ай бұрын
Beware, this lever is very finicky and adjustment changes when the engine is hot. If the bike is doing any sort of hard clutching over several hours, you can easily smoke the clutch plates! I found out the hard way. Set screws are known to move in/out so use a thread locking compound for best results.

dan.e, could you please measure the piston rod that came with B2C clutch lever? Unfortunately, I bought used B2C without orginal midwest piston rod. Currently I'm using rod from brembo and the clutch lever feels the same like standard brembo lever.

Hi, thanks for a good video. Got one question for you though, will the pull position change from the original lever? like do you need to pull the lever all the way into the bar before it disengage the clutch? Best regards
@danssubscriptions
@danssubscriptions 4 жыл бұрын
A.Vikman it’s adjustable i.e you can set the point the clutch disengages. I had mine set to disengage before fully pulled into the handle bars.

@@danssubscriptions adjustable distance from bars, but what I think the real question is; is the travel that's required MORE to get same action. Engineering or mechanical physics tells me if it's easier to pull (and it will when pivot and pull points are closer) this translates into the travel to be longer to get equal clutch disengagement.

Hi! Have you ever had any problems with the torque of the fuzzy clutch? I don't know how to properly call it sticky grip and not a sharp blow when it is squeezed.
@danssubscriptions

No, but I didn’t keep the lever on for very long. I didn’t like that the engagement point kept changing depending on how cold or hot the clutch got. I went back to the original Brembo lever and added washers to the clutch spring bolts to lighten the pull instead.

I have one in my 300 exc, but it’s position is quite far from handle bars meaning I really need to stretch my finger out to grab. I bought the bike with it installed. How do you adjust it so it’s closer to the bars?

Michael Parthenides skip to 3:08mins. I talk about adjusting the stopper there to move the lever closer to the bars.

dan.e thanks. But if you wind that screw out the clutch will engage as I don’t have free play. Do you need to adjust that Allen key out?
@MP-cm4yk

I’ve managed to improve it slightly. But what I’ve also noticed is the bike engages much quicker as you release the clutch, which I prefer. Feels stronger down low now.

Are you using the OEM piston rod or the one that comes with the lever? Also, have you adjusted the engagement point i.e. set it so it disengages before the lever is pulled all the way into the bars? The problem I had with this lever is I found the engagement point changed depending on how hot the engine was.

are you happy with this purchase?.... how much lighter is the cluch pull vs stock? is it 50% less as they claim... thanks for any info you can share
@danssubscriptions
@danssubscriptions 4 жыл бұрын
Doug M3 the pull is definitely lighter than stock. I’d say more like 30% lighter. I used the lever for a couple of months but didn’t end up keeping it as I didn’t like the way the point of engagement changed as the clutch temperature changed. For example I had it setup to engage//disengage about 5-10mm from my fingers, but as the day went on and the engine temperature increased, so to did the engagement/disengagement point i.e. it would end up being 20-25mm away from my fingers. I’ve got mates who use them and just find a middle ground and get used to it. I didn’t like it and wanted the same action all the time. I ended up going back to the stock Brembo lever but added 1.39mm thick washers between the clutch springs and bolts to lighten the pull instead. It works for me.

Dan, we over at AltRider have made a new lever and solved the adjustment issue with a very nice thumb wheel for the exact reason you go rid of the MME version. email info@ and I would like to set you up and get you opinion.
