I'm 77 years old and have worked on cars all my life. Not in a shop but at home because I never had the money to take it to a shop but listening to this has made me think of a lot of things. My time is coming and I have to put things together . I wouldn't want things to go all wrong. Your father was one Hell of a man and thank you for telling your story. Chief you showed a side of you that not many has seen and for that you have my utmost respect. To both of you, you have brought tears to an old mans eyes. Thank you and all the best the world has to offer. Good night and God bless both of you.

My father was my best friend and I lost him quickly. I was meeting him to do some work and got the call to go to the hospital. He was dead when they brought him in to the hospital from heart attack. For years we worked together but argued a lot. Then one day we got over that and were best friends. It’s hard but it gets easier over time. I wish you both all the health and energy to get over your loss. My condolences!

First off, once again @Jackie Braasch I’m soo sorry for your loss. Months ago when we first got the news of your Dads passing, I knew it would take some time to not only process the sudden loss your self but also the pain sure to be caused by going through the personal stuff. Been through it myself with 5 siblings so I can understand how difficult it can be. In your situation, sadly enough, this situation will only make you relive that initial shock and pain. It WILL get better and as far as whoever wronged you during this, it’s something you won’t and shouldn’t forget just keep in the back of your mind and don’t let any of those people ever fully back into your heart . @Justin Shearer be there and support your lady which I’m SURE you have been and will continue to do. Just remember us TRUE fans love and support both of you

My heart goes to you both. I've lost both my parents and the one thing that consistent is the pass of a loved one shows you everyone's true colors. My dad was a self employed mechanic his whole life. We were told growing up you could tell a real mechanic if there were tools in his tool box you couldn't identify because it was some they made to fix a certain thing. I can't tell you how much I cherish those tools when I found them in his tool box. Thank you for sharing this part of your lives.

Thanks for sharing your story, my condolences to you guys and family. I lost my Dad unexpectedly not long ago and he was much like your dad, i grew up going to the track with him too. Everything he cared about was in his shop or gun cabinet. Its just me and my brother and neither one of us cared about getting anything in particular we just wanted the things like yall talked about that meant something to us and him that we can remember him by. So the total opposite happened with us and we had to take everything lol. Then it gets difficult because you have to figure where to keep all the cherished things and even worse is how to get rid of things you know you don't really need to keep. Its a tough deal and i hope you guys can keep moving forward getting through the rough times. Im glad you got to bring the car back, I know your dad is too.

Jackie, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss and the turmoil that always comes after a death. I know how you feel about sentimental value of things because I'm the same. Chiefs mentioning a wrench that was marked from shorting on a hot wire really touched me because I have a 3/4" Snap-On wrench with that exact memory. I've had these tools almost 50 years. Being over 70 years of age, I've witnessed many times the disappointments in family members that you've had to endure. But something no-one else can screw with or take away is your memories of and with your Dad. I hope your heart heals soon and you continue to make future memories without the pains of the past. Good Luck, and know you're in the hearts and prayers of many across our country. Be safe, and Hammer Down, Girl!!!

Jackie, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I have lost pretty much all of my family so I know how it feels. I am glad to hear that it brought you and your sister back together. Your dad would truly enjoy this and I bet he is proud of both of you! Thank you for sharing this. Truly enjoyed hearing the stories. At least you know that he would want you to keep racing and it is so awesome that you have this legacy! Nice work you two.

Jackie, so sorry to hear about your Dad passing! I lost my Dad in 2001 and my Mom in 2004. Definitely rocked my world, I hope you and Justin talking about it and telling us about it helped at least a little. Grieving unfortunately will come in waves and you don't have to explain shit to anyone about it. Lean on each other in the hard times! Respect and well wishes to you both!

It’s Very clear how much these two love each other and I truly think a reality show on their life would be a massive success, they may not want to do that sort of thing anymore , but if they did it would be an excellent show that would be an instant hit, but they would they have to give up some privacy and they may prefer that and it’s totally understandable.

Thank you for sharing John’s story with us. Loosing my father was the toughest moments in my life and I too understand the time it takes to process the changes in life. The situation around my fathers passing and subsequent others removing his stuff shares so many similarities to what you have shared with us. I hope you we’re ultimately able to get a few of those memory items. I understand how they mean more to you than the items of monitory value. Hopefully Erin can get in the Nova soon, if not it is great to know that you will be a great caretaker of it until she is ready.

Lost my father 2 years ago. And I know the hurt that comes with that. Much respect to you chief for standing by Jackie. Jackie to you I know your feelings. I’m glad you got to get his car. I was supposed to get a piece of my fathers land and gave her to get it. I know it hurts a lot. Praying for you and hope y’all take the nova out and make some passes for him💯❤️

Sorry for your loss. I remember losing my dad. It hit like a concrete wall. He was Superman because of a lot of things he had been through and just shrugged it off and walked through it. A year later I lost my mom and recently lost my only sister. Tell your family you love them. You may not have tomorrow to do it. Stay strong all and cherish the memories.
