I recently noticed that the small holes through which the string passes in our Venetian blinds sometimes cast images of the neighbouring trees onto our bedroom wall when the sun is in the right place. It is a pinhole camera and the effect is rather magical, and even though in modern times we are taught this as a known technique, rather than discovering it by accident like this for ourselves, it is still impressive. I can't help thinking that someone back in the day must also have happened across this, and I hypothesize that maybe it was a technique used in monumental architecture at some point, to augment the perceived magic of the liminal experience. It's just a thought of course. Also, I'm from the Isle of Man, and first came across you (your early Newgrange alignment video many moons ago) whilst searching to see if anyone else had noticed what I'd noticed about potential ancient alignments there. The Isle of Man is famous for it's keeills, and where found in their most unspoiled condition they seem to have an inner stone wall with a soil retaining bank on the outside. This is interpreted by many as being unskilful masonry, but I think it might be more likely a continuation of the 'passage tomb' tradition, during the gradual transition to Christian philosophy through the expansion of the church of Rome. Unfortunately my Google Earth computer is broken at the moment so I might have lost some of my work, but as a 'starter for ten' if you're interested to look for yourself - consider Rushen Parish Church - to Meayll Circle - and on to the Calf of Mann island for one of my proposed midwinter sunset azimuth alignments. There's more to it that that when you include old 'lost' keeill sites from the 1849 OS maps, including some remarkable equidistances, but it's complicated and you know how hard it is to nail things down. I'm aware of the very likely possibility of coincidence btw, otherwise I'd be screaming from the rooftops rather than occasionally mentioning it to folk who might be interested :D Hey and whilst I'm rambling here's a fun one for google earth, but surely coincidence? Have you noticed that Newgrange passage is ultimately pointing at Stonehenge, and that Waun Mawn is equidistant between the two? Ha, that's crazy even if it is coincidence. And another mad one - if you follow the midwinter sunset from Newgrange it pretty much, so far as I can tell would lead you to the Skellig islands, the closest place you could possibly get to the setting sun (without going to Amerikay of course)! That kinda feels like less of a coincidence, but who knows? Anyway, good luck and keep up the good work fella :)
