In this comprehensive video I unbox, demonstrate and review the Miele TriFlex HX1 Ct & Dog cordless vacuum cleaner. After unboxing the machine, I demonstrate it on a hard floor and plush carpeting. I also test pet hair removal using the mini electro brush and the main electrobrush and show you how to empty the cleaner and maintain the filters.
Please note this is NOT a paid for promotion as I paid for the vacuum myself.

another premier review Roger. It looks better quality to any dyson rival model and I like that it can stand up and the battery is detachable. I understand the versatlity of cordless vacuums for modern homes but the small bin and constant filter cleaning can not be overlooked. I am still looking to purchase an upright corded bagged vacuum that will contain the dust - the Sebo X7 pet is favourite so far.

I just bought the base model. I'd say that the weak points of this vacuum are the filter, as Roger points out, and the battery life. However, it appears to me that these weaknesses only surface if you use this machine for heavy duty or lengthy work. I have two levels in my apartment, about 1700 square feet on each level. I just have a few rugs to deal with on the upper level, & can easily get through the work in less than 30 minutes. I don't plan to use this on my wood floors normally, since a Swifter does just fine for that. I own a corded bagged upright of a different brand for my fully carpeted second level, and it does what I need there. I was quite impressed with the cleaning & suction power of this machine. Hint: wear vinyl gloves when cleaning the filter. I have to say it would have been very helpful if I'd run across this review before first using the vacuum, since the manual doesn't explain things anywhere near as well as Roger does.

Thank you for such a thorough and indepth review of the Miele TriFlex HX1 Cat & Dog. I have now ordered one and look forward to using it. Also, it was pleasing to see my Hoover Aquamaster in your profile picture. I have had mine for more than 30 years, and still works and i just buy new filters and it works a treat, very powerful and will lift any carpet if not secured to the floor. Its just that it is bulky so, decided to get a lighter weight vaccum cleaner. Once again, a great video even though you did not show your face but this led to me concentration on the product review. I guess for the speed and convenience of a daily sweep, this is great! You just need to add it to your list of things to clean once a week with your regular canister vacuum. Think of it as a convenience device that needs a once a week or once a month thorough vacuuming with a bigger cleaner. Which seems pretty reasonable. Miele should consider making a bagged version though....that might be a real improvement!

Hi, I have a Miele dynamic u1 which I think is the same as Miele s7000. I bought a rotating mini turbo brush compatible with this a while back for stairs and things. Will this mini turbo brush be compatible with the triflex? If so I think it makes sense to get the pro version with the extra battery rather than the cat and dog version as I understand it’s a choice between mini turbo brush or battery for the same price?

I just bought this and while it’s a nice little machine, if you have a multi pet household you will be emptying the dust container every minute or so, and if you don’t, the pet hair, carpet fiber and dust will clog the hose and nozzle and pipe, and it is a long haul and a great bit of effort to get it out. It’s a ridiculously small dust container which is hard to pull the pet hair out of. I have to use a toothbrush. I am still searching for the perfect, powerful, bagless, battery operated vacuum for my multi pet home, if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them very much. Thank you so much for this demonstration.

I’m not sure why people are complaining of the suction. It’s designed for little messes and quick touch-ups, not for replacing the role of a full-Power, plug-in vacuum or deep cleaning carpet. It does a phenomenal job at what it’s intended for and I’m sold for that reason. It’s the only stick vac that the dust bin can be placed near the power nozzle instead of at the wrist, which will increase air flow at the power nozzle for carpet and make it easier to use on floors in general.

I found myself trying to decide between the Dyson V11 Torque Drive and the Miele Triflex HX1 Pro. I opted for the Miele because a lot of reviewers and current owners seemed to complain about Dyson’s reliability. Who cares if the Dyson works great if it’s not going to last? If I’m going to invest several hundred dollars in a vacuum, I want to know that it will still work really well in 5 years (or longer), so long as it is reasonably maintained. The Miele just has a better track record for reliability. You also don’t have to keep holding the on/off switch on the Miele like you have to on the Dyson. That just seem ridiculous that Dyson designs theirs like that. 🤷🏻 Thank you for your review!

Dyson are the largest vacuum manufacturer in the world and their products come with 2 and 5 year guarantees. Their customer service is renowned for its quality, and Dyson engineer their cordless models to last 15 years. You don’t become a top seller by making poor quality products. In fact, go on Dyson website now and see how many user replaceable spare parts you can obtain.

Thank you for sharing this with us. It's a rather nice looking machine and it appears to have really good power for a cordless. You can see the carpet being lifted on the back stroke indicating one of 3 potential things, that this is very powerful, that the head is very well sealed allowing the majority of it's power to be retained or that this carpet is just easy to seal to. What do you think? Do you notice a lot of other machines being able to lift the carpet up like that? Eventually i'd like to perform my tests on it and see where it stands so we can better understand it, though I'd imagine it may be a while before a Miele dealer i'm friendly enough with gets one. I will agree with yourself and others that the dustbin needs work. A single cyclonic design with a pleated filter just isn't fitting for a machine of the brand and price range. I understand that keeping the airpath simple allows for greater flow but this design will also see a faster loss in flow as the filter has minimal protection. Oh and i'm rather curious about the seals on the filters, if possible keep us posted on this machine and if you would check the tube leading into the motor to see what if anything is getting around the filters that would be great. Again thank you for sharing.

Thx for the video. Bought it based on ur review. All parts clicked. There seems to be a space gap just at the space below the canister, which I see on yours also. Doesn’t seem right. Do u see it? Comments don’t allow a photo

It’s easy to put the dirt bin back without properly clicking into place. Make sure it’s pushed down fully.

I just got one if these and I'm afraid to say I'm returning it. It performs just as you'd expect with a miele and it's nice and quiet but unfortunately that bin/filter design really lets it down, it's horrendous. I'm going to go for a V15 Absolute and see if that's any better!

Your reviews are so comprehensive. I couldn’t find much information on Miele’s own website, but you have excelled. Thank you. I am reluctant to buy another stick after having a Dyson V8 which hasn’t lasted the distance, but I like the convenience. My original vacuum was a Miele barrell which is still powerful after 20+ years but is only used in the shed and car now. Would you expect this Miele to have much life expectancy?
@ibaisaic
@ibaisaic 2 жыл бұрын
There is no way you would get 20 years out of a new Miele, especially a cordless model as the batteries have a finite life. This is a good cleaner but I don’t like the messy emptying. A new version the HX2 has just been launched with more power and an easier filter cleaning system, so you may want to look at that. As you refer to your old Miele as a barrel, I assume you live in Australia or New Zealand, so check out your local Miele website to see what models are available there.

I like the sound of the motor, not high pitched and screechy like cheaper vacs...I don’t like that cheap looking slider power switch, and the dust container is too small with fiddly filters. The colour of the unit is very drab by Miele standards...I was looking into buying this vac but I think I’ll hold off for an updated version which might address the shortcomings

@@elizabethblackwell6242 I ordered this model yesterday. Have gone through four Dyson Stick vacuums (various Animal versions). While nothing else in this category compares, they've all had mechanical issues within the first year. Hoping the Miele is just as powerful (I have two dogs), but has lasting power. I disagree with the primitive technology comment. I dare @TheGrudge to find something as powerful, with the same ease of use. There just isn't anything out there, I've looked.

@@ellierk2880 Thanks so much for your answer. I bought one last week and so far it's fantastic. One reason I don't like Dyson is that it spews minute dust particles into your face because of the design. It's great suction, but even the HEPA models don't capture all the particles and project them back into the environment. Anyway so far so good with the Miele. No asthma and the carpet looks better than ever.

@@elizabethblackwell6242 We just got ours yesterday, and I used it for the first time today. The canister wouldn't empty the fur (from our dogs) on it's own. We had to use a "chopstick' to get it all out. Very disappointed, will be returning.

@@ellierk2880 I don't think the canisters will ever work the way they're shown on the TV! I also have poke up there to empty and as I get asthma I get my husband to do it. I think it's the nature of the canister beast. It's why I love Miele's bagged barrel so much: Slide out the bag, slide in a new one, drop it in the bin. Sorry you're disappointed. Nothing worse than anticipating a product and being let down. I'm really loving mine. It sucks the life out of the carpet and never makes me wheeze!

Nice to see a mostly positive demo of this machine! I've primarily seen either paid for positive reviews or completely negative reviews of it until now. It's a shame that it is bagless, otherwise I would consider buying one. In addition to the filter problem, the container itself looks very small. I wish Miele would stick to their bagged roots like Sebo has done so far, but I understand many consumers have been led to believe bags are evil.

Aren’t Miele bags compostable and made with sustainable materials? Although they do use plastic to attach to the nozzle. Considering how long lasting their products last, and are not as disposable as some other brands where the whole vacuum ends up in a landfill, for me its ok.

I think the cat and dog model of this one is my new vacuum! The one thing that I am confused on is what would be the best tool, even if I have to buy it to use on hardwood stairs? And you, I've just gotten to the end of the video and not being able to wash those filters really might be problematic and a deal-breaker. I guess I'm going to call the company and ask about that. Have you gotten any further knowledge I'm the best way to get these clean without having to use another vacuum?

Any modern Miele tool will fit. They do a parquet nozzle for wood floors that will fit the Triflex. Although the instructions don’t say you can wash the filter, the replacement filter available on their website says it’s washable.

Is it possible to fit another Wand onto the the one it comes with to increase the lenngth so that if you have realy high ceilings - you can reach them. My on my current Miele 758 I can "stack" as many power wands together and still get power to the electro brush - or use non powered wands for the simple tools.
