Apart from that, most of my friends who I watch fights with are, like me, Boxing fans & have trained in boxing as well & we all expected this one to end faster than RR vs Holly. Simply because Amanda is so much faster & more powerful. She's also a smart pressure fighter. She understands how to force her opponents to engage in the way she wants them to. She's also a classic counter puncher! Meaning, she uses specific offenses/attacks to lure her opponent to react in specific ways (which is exactly what she wants them to do), so that land the shots she wants & knows will land. She's not just dangerous because she's got a wide range of skills & athletic attributes, but she's incredibly smart in knowing when to use them. She's calm relaxed & humble. You could see it leading up to the fight. I agree that RR had the pressure stacked on her. She was trying too hard to convince herself that she was ready or capable of challenging the champ. She's not mentally strong enough or skill savvy enough for the top 3 - 5 fighters in her division anymore. There are different players in a very different game. No lower tier fighters like when she came on the scene and was dominating. But UFC did what they always do, they fueled up the HYPE MACHINE & banked on their marketing project. Well, Amanda called their bluff worse than Holly did. Wow! Was she efficient or what. When she popped RR with that first jab so soon, I knew it was going to be a first round KO. An effective Jab sets up every punch, establish range, will disrupt and opponent's rhythm, AND make it easy to sell feints. Which Amanda did lovely.

This sentence is perfect. It shows why Ronda was so successful. She was a bad fighter but the rest were even worse. The division was a joke @ the start, now it has legitimate fighters and world champions, so fighters like Ronda get rekt and exposed.

I think, you guys are exaggerating. Ronda is a good fighter and so is Miesha. It's just that both, never really worked their striking skills, so their fighting repertoire was kinda short when it came to face strikers like Holy and Amanda. The way I see it, things are simple. You have to be able to adapt your fighting, IF things don't go the way you have planned it, Ronda showed that she didn't have a back-up strategy for Holy's style, and she panicked and kept charging mindlessly at her, "eating" punches all the way to reach her. Miesha saw that and when she faced Holy, made the obvious, kept avoiding her punches until she found an opening. But that was also her downfall, after beating Holy, she thought she could handle any striker, so she let Amanda get close and land that punch that broke her nose. Ronda(and for that I blame her coach), didn't learn anything. She trained a bit at striking and thought she could handle an experience striker? Big mistake. She should have followed Mieshas way with Holy.
