Still think the F-5 is one of the most visually stunning aircraft ever to fly. A question: does your Sim have the newer upgrades done by IMI for both Chile and Brazil in the M-model?? Advanced digital flight systems, Upgraded engines, ESA Radar, and beyond visual capabilities have placed this Gen-2 airframe firmly into the Gen-4 field.

@@ditzydoo4378 no, DCS world doesn’t have those upgrades sadly. That sounds super cool though. The one we have in DCS is the base F5E from the late 60’s early 70’s. Very mediocre radar, two AIM-9’s (B, P, and P-5 models) and the 2x 20mm m39 cannons. Would love to see the F5M come at some point, but for now I think that’s just a dream. Good day to you

What are those things that deploy in front of the F-5's guns when you fire? Edit: Ok so I looked it up and they are gas deflector doors to keep the engines from ingesting the gun exhaust gasses and stalling.

@@cloroxmints355 that's true in DCS as well as long as you have a two stage trigger. Most people will hold the stage one down when lining up so they are already popped open and ready for a quick blasty.

I wouldn’t call it much of a match up, the mig21 + mig23 combo is getting eaten alive by the f4e + f5e combo in a majority of games (in warthunder), with the American planes doing better in their respective roles compared to the Soviet aircraft.

I saw MiG-23 vs F-5 and thought for a second that you went down the dark path of War Thunder since they are the hyped aircraft of the most recent patch. But then I read "DCS" at the end of the title and knew all was right in the world. That said this match up might help on the algorithm since the two are trending as a result of said War Thunder patch.

Oh man, this rules. I love seeing this kinda teamwork and action. Twice during this video I mistakenly thought I spotted the MiGs, but one of these days I'm gonna learn to reliably distinguish between a distant aircraft coming into view and a dust mote suddenly landing on my monitor. After this intro, F-5s looking like sharks swimming out of the shallows and all tippy toe takeoff, followed by the hulking forms of the Floggers brute forcing their way skyward... the dogfight was almost prim by comparison, followed by cleaning up, a smoke and a nap.

In real life the F5 had a quirky flat spin that was easier to get into than get out of and damn near unrecoverable in all but high altitude situations. Does DCS slip this quirk in?

Another great video Growling! Love your videos! Just a question ... when you do videos like this, why don't you use real pilots in the other aircraft? I think it would be a better showing of the aircraft as, I would assume, players are better than AI pilots and would push the limits of each of the aircraft to give a more realistic and challenging encounter.
