The MiG-29M OVT is one of the world's most incredible airplanes ever build. Have filmed this masterpiece of russian aeronautical Engineering at ILA Berlin 2006. It was just awesome. Great footage from RIAT. :)

It must be the most manuverable aircraft ever built, I mean the MIG 29M is already an amazingly manuverable plane, and they even added fly by wire and thrust vectoring, that is insane man.

To me thrust vectoring is a true revolution in avionics/propulsion; when I got my first impressions in a video-clip I couldn't believe my eyes - a true jaw-dropper !

Me too I'd hate to be up close and personal in a inferior jet...and him flexing, acting like superman...just maybe I can do like the Indian Mig 21 did to the more modern Pakistani f16...get in the right position and OOOPS lucky shot my bad...while you were show boating...flame out...run before his brother shows up...lol

5:50 - 6:05 might be a good way to scan the entire airspace with the radar instead of just a cone ahead of the airplane.

I go to RIAT every year (with free tickets courtesy of the RAF Widows Association), and I saw this display first hand... I'm yet to see a display top this one!

so close filming, while difficult, doesn't give the "whole picture": especially when there's no clouds at all ! my point is when we have static ref (the ground, some dark clouds behind) the same flight is way much Mindblowing........just to say, this was some nice shoot, but less zoom and it'll became breathtaking.

Was at the RIAT SHOW that weekend..and on the FRIDAY( IN THOSE DAYS..viewing area).. and as it raised back..to park along side NATO FRONTLINE DISPLAY AIRCRAFT.. A BOTTLE OF CHAMPERS.. was UNCORKED.. TO HAIL THE DISPLAY.. OF THIS MIG29 OVT.. !! AND NOT FORGETTING THE PILOT.. WHO FLEW IT..!!

Firing a missile with the weapons axis perpendicular to the velocity vector could pose a problem of the missile striking the underside aircraft upon release. A very robust launch system may be needed to ensure adequate separation even under aggressive post-stall maneuvers

Missiles that can be shot from such high angles don't get dropped from the luncher, they ignite on the rail and moves forward away from the plane.

Gorgeous bird, it's a pity there weren't any buyers. For all its performance, countries have preferred the Flanker. Advanced models are capable of all these maneuvers and then some, have much better range and can carry heavier loads farther. It's sad to see how far the Mig design bureau has fallen. They need to bring a clean sheet design forward now, not updated Mig-29's...

They buy flankers because they want the bigger fuel capacity. That's why they don't buy f16, and since the mig29 is the Russian/Armenian counterpart of the f16 they don't bother sadly.

Stall Maneuvers make a very exciting Air Show, even though they are of no military value. Still, exciting and beautiful, well done to the Russians.

Are you sure they are of no military value? How about evading maneuvres to BVR missiles, not to mention the VVR combat in which Russians have no match so far (supermaneuverability + R-73/4, world's best short range AAM)

Best plane ever! That said from the left of the Ferro Flapps. Watched a few years at fartborough until they stopped showing up...? Nothing came close. The SU35 was like a nod but too big and not as exciting... Only the A380 competed as it hung up like an airship... Raptor? Meh....
