if Wemby doesnt get DPOY because of his age and team record that would be a travesty. First of all age should have nothing to do with the award and secondly the award is “Defensive PLAYER of the Year,” IT IS NOT the “Top 3 Defensive Player on the Team with the Best Record Award”.

Pretty sure Defensive Rating is valued more than record. I believe he is 2nd in the DPOY Race showing that analysts and voters are acknowledging him. The fact that he isn't in the play in and doesn't have an elite or great defense team will hold him back. I think voters don't care about his age, especially considering how hyped up he was. He will be a multiple time DPOY and the fact that him (and his team) will get better from hear makes me perfectly fine with him not winning DPOY. Anyways I hope to see him play in person.

U do realize his team defensive rating is horrible while Gobert is leading one of if not the best defensive teams in the league. U can't be dpoy if ur team is bad on defense

Gobert is so overrated. Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday have been the two best defenders in the league for like 8 years and they will end their careers with ZERO DPOY AD not winning this year is criminal. Dude is the entire defense for the lakers and is asked to do the most on offense unlike Gobert AD is quite possibly the greatest defender of all time and gets disrespected like crazy. But then Davis 2.0 aka Wemby comes along and does everything Davis does but taller and a bigger wing span
