I love how this makes them all look far more competent and put together than they actually are in-game. XD

Ah, I see you too are here to reminisce on times that once were. Come come, take a seat, and experience an old memory with the knowledge of something new.

One great thing I don’t see praised enough is the transitions, they’re Edgar Wright level, the movement brings your visual attention to where the next character will be. This is most notable at 0:51 Where Fjord’s movements transition perfect into Nott’s, making it incredibly easy on they eye. This is also shown in the fact that the characters are almost always dead centre, this means that the watcher doesn’t need to move their sight so much and so more time can be spent paying attention to the animation. Whoever did the animation deserves a an award or two.

When an intro song is so good, that the entire audience -- between 2,000 and 3,000 people -- spontaneously sing it to kick off a live show at GenCon. That's how good this song, and this cast, are.

In a perfect world, This is an animated series that covers the whole campaign from start to finish, holy shit, absolutely phenomenal

The "And they rise from the flames... " bit with Caleb staring into the fire made me tear up a second.

Okay so i haven't gotten to a point where this actually plays, i'm only in the mid 30s but it's a really cool detail that at the very end all of the characters are in the same poses as their minis.

I have a son 9 months old... When he first heard this song, his eyes lit up. It is his favorite song of all, and just humming the melody makes his snap around to find the song. He even gets mad if we don't find it fast enough :D

I now just realized that instead of “they got daggers and cunning” they say “they got falchions and cunning” small detail but it’s still amazing

I love how my first time watching this was my introduction to critical role when I was hanging out with my sister-in-law over Christmas and I loved this animation the first few times I watched it. Now, revisiting it after watching a chunk of The Mighty Nein, I can recognize background characters, battle scenes, and I understand the hints or flashes of character backstories and I just think that's pretty neat

I just love how the intro shows every members fighting style perfectly but my absolute favourite is that sequence at 1:00 when Beau spins all light and fast and then Yasha's sword strike feels so powerfull and heavy

Just noticed Yasha's hair goes full black when the wings come out. It's the little details. :D

I can't wait till I get to this point to hear it every episode. Just hitting ep 22 in the first campaign.

Just thinking about the shot with Caduceus when they show Taliesin's name. There's a butterfly in the shot and Cad watches it and I think that's like so important and stop me if you heard this before I want to get this brain fart out. The animators are Filipino so like while the shot with Molly's coat and Raven!Vax means so much, in the Philippines, whenever a relative/loved one dies, if you see a butterfly nearby, that's their spirit and they're watching over you and like I'm gonna think about this for a while. It's like the ravens, I guess.

Animated Mighty Nein is coming!!!!

We’ve had technically 3 intros now for campaign 3 and none have come remotely close to matching this. Now that I complained I do thoroughly enjoy campaign 3 just not the intro.

Came to watch this after the new C3 animated opening. Still gotta go with this one only because I like the actual theme better. The animation is neck and neck, maybe slightly better with C3 and C3 has a lot more action shots but man this one just hits everything.... The build up to Fjord falling into the water starting the theme, the way it shows glimpses of everyone's backstory and the Mollymauk grave being the emotional linchpin. Just so damn good. Still, the new C3 one is definitely the second best now. This has reigned supreme since it's release but can't deny that the new C3 one is also top tier.

Pro: there could be an animated series of this campaign Con: you can see Molly dying in real time OKAY Y'ALL NEED TO STOP READING THIS COMMENT, WHY ARE YOU EVEN IN THIS COMMENT SECTION, WHY WOULD YOU LOOK UP THE INTRO WHERE IT IS CLEARLY IMPLIED THAT MOLLY EITHER DIED OR LEFT THE GROUP SINCE TALIESIN IS PRESENTED AS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHARACTER
