Mighty Coconut a feature would be amazing! I do have one question: why is the ocean drained in the first place?
@Canofjuice728 жыл бұрын
Because I don't think anyone's done this yet, here's a list of my best guesses at what the assorted aircraft are: Hero aircraft: Modified OV-1 Mohawk Twin hulled bad guy fighter: Twin-hulled P-47 Thunderbolt with features from miscellaneous aircraft incorporated into the tail. Swept wing bad guy fighter: Roughly based on XP-55 Ascender, but with mixed features from assorted aircraft. Large airliner: Loosely based on A380, but much smalller, probably proportionally close to a Boeing 767. Loved the film!
@MightyCoconut8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Barrett Right on! For what it's worth, the top wing on the OV-1 is a scaled down version of a PBY Catalina.
@Canofjuice728 жыл бұрын
+Mighty Coconut Ah! I was was thinking so because of the connecting pylon and wingtips, though you spaced engine nacelles further apart. Thank you for indulging my inner aviation nerd. If y'all are at SXSW this year I'll seeya there. :)
@molot_vepr_30897 жыл бұрын
Definitely a A380 with gear and engine changes it seems the engines have been ripped off and replaced with 12 propellers. The elevators have been ripped apart with jagged metal protruding out of the tail. Along with the rudder, it has a different elevators that were probably salvaged from a different jet. The plane has holes on it which means that the plane has been in previous battles. The gear seems like it was from the 747 which seems like the only size that fits. And of course it's been modified with guns which makes it look like a WWII bomber.
@you_just7 жыл бұрын
From the logos the jet looks like a Turkish Airlines plane, with the logo modified for copyright reasons.

also the protagonists plane had the PBY Catalina wing up on top.

The throaty sounds of the engines, the cracks and pings of the gunfire, and that insanely powerful yet eloquent music, all thrown together into a beautiful story with stunning animation. I can't give this enough praise. I know that every time I watch this it is going to make me tear up without really knowing why, but every couple of weeks i have to look it up again and re-live it all. Excellent work.

Right until the end I was still hoping that the two other smaller planes would come back and help out, that would've made it even more awesome than it was, but even the current animation was still incredible, keep up the good work

The message is clear, although the title says otherwise... but what's important is the audiences understand what they have just watch and keep it in their lives as part of their value, all the good things they could share in their surroundings. I love this movie clip and my deep gratitude goes to whoever made this.

wow at last I can watch your story about the ocean maker! I saw the trailer over a year ago and here we go, congratulations, people like you should make movies at all times, you are an original artist!
@ArchTeryx008 жыл бұрын
This was just awesome - like Mad Max and Crimson Skies had a baby who grew up on Dryworld. (And the complaints about "where do the clouds come from?" are pretty groundless; all the water would either be locked up deep underground or in the atmosphere. The rest is just Rule of Drama). If you haven't already submitted this short to the Academy for an Oscar, DO IT NOW. I'd be shocked if it failed to get a nom.

I hope that you guys realize what you have. This story is huge. I just watched it twice. This story has so much potentials for a prequel such as how did they get there, what are Katrina's origins? how she become who she his? Who inspired her? For a sequel, after the rain, then what? Who is the woman in the light house? What happens to Katrina's design? Who are the sky pirates? Maybe they are not such bad people, they're just desperate for water and that's make them dangerous... The music, the story, the action, this is top class. Way better and most Disney and Dreamworks projects.

The OceanMaker is what makes animation a true art form. Poetry without words, beauty beyond aesthetic. This short film is deserving of many awards and I hope that a lot more of the world finds out about it. Rooster Teeth were wise to showcase this and I am so glad that I discovered it today upon a rare visit of their website. I wish Monty could have seen it!
