For very narrow cuts. Some very expensive Japanese saws can go even thinner, but these hacksaw blades are among the cheapest ones available.

Normal wood handsaws make wide grooves/cuts. Hacksaws make thin ones.

@Alan McEwen you are providing very costly solutions for simple problems. All I am saying is metal hacksaw blades are easily available at dime a dozen, and as you watched, are capable of the job at hand perfectly. I agree, there are a lot of thinner saw available, but very few comes at the convenience of replaceable blades, that too cheap.
